the ones at the walmart i work at are never fed or changed water. i buy food to feed the m and change their water, regardless if managers want it done
The ones at the Walmart by my house are in about an inch and a half of water and then they have a sign next to them that says “please don’t feed or change the water” because apparently its so bad that customers try to take care of them.
The store I used to work at had great managers for a while, but then they got replaced by shit heads and I quit within about a month and a half and we’d had more animals die in that time than in the entire year before. If you’ve never seen someone let a husky ‘play’ with a ferret count your lucky stars because I had to go in the bathroom and cry.
I’m pretty sure the reason a bunch of my fish died is because of something that came home from the pet store, also, last time I tried to return some neon tetras that died THE NIGHT I TOOK THEM HOME the manager had the nerve to say that the tank I put them in was “too small” ITS BIGGER THAN THE ONE THEY’RE IN AT YOUR STORE.
tl;dr someone needs to start a therapy group for people who worked at stores that sell animals and fish.
