Happy Birthday, Sarah Dessen!

I just do not understand why Netflix is choosing to adapt Once and For All over The Truth About Forever or Just Listen. Maybe they opted against the latter since they were already adopting on a music-filled story, but still.
$10 bucks says Netflix Dexter’s going to be indie, but I’d be lying if I said it wouldn’t be absolutely hilarious to have him be the one character transported out of the early 2000s pop-punk era.
How did I forget this Easter egg in Saint Anything? Oh Sarah you books make me homesick for a place I've never been.

Longhand Pencils reopened last fall and I’m happy to share that the Sarah Dessen pencil set is not only still available but has been updated with colors!
(For context, the original design was black and white.)
Nine pencils in a variety of colors featuring nods to her most well-known books, the set is an almost perfect match to the Sarah Dessen book covers.
The price tag is $20 and shipping is a flat rate of $5.
May 7, 2022: Forever Young Adult featured Along for the Ride in their highly scientific analysis series.
If Forever Young Adult sounds familiar, it’s probably because Sarah used to talk about them. They have a line of Sarah Dessen merch on Redbubble that she’s ordered from in the past.
'Leo!' someone yelled. 'Bring us our food, now!' He turned, looking at the door. 'Come on. You can at least give me a pizza and some knots.' 'Sure,' I replied, turning to walk back to the hall. 'For five thousand bucks. And some fizzy water.'

'We had a deal. The band is playing this event.' 'If we pay them five grand, which is not happening,' I said. 'Five grand?' Eric said, incredulous. 'For Spinnerbait?' 'Hate Spinnerbait,' his friends recited. This time Ambrose joined them. 'Seriously?' I said to him. 'It's what you do,' he replied with a shrug.'

'Leo! Get that food in here. We're starving.' 'It's Theo,' the man in question snapped. Layla snorted. Then, turning back to us, he said, 'Do not address the band. Do not look at the band. Just--' 'Oh, don't worry,' Mac said. 'It's going to be more painful for us than for them. Your total's one forty-three seventy-two, before tip.' 'Cash preferred,' Layla added. Theo looked at me. 'Go ahead and cover this and we'll discuss the rest of the money once the band is eating.' 'Excuse me?' 'Wait, you're paying them to play?' Eric said. 'People actually do that?'
