is there a reason why feminist spaces spontaneously combust when we as lesbians dare point out that bisexuals oppress us
it seems bi women took their rhetoric from libfem "biphobia", which not only posits that gay people and straight people both somehow oppress bisexuals but also that bisexuals suffer homophobia *and* biphobia, and are therefore super double oppressed :| this literally does not describe reality. Most bisexuals are het-passing, het-partnered homophobes who treat their SSA like a kink.
bisexual men don't do this to gay dudes.
this bizarre Need to be the Most Oppressed Person Ever who never has to check their own privilege is bi woman behavior and I don't know why they act like that :/
real. i really wish we didn't have to come up with post after post detailing bisexuals punching down on lesbians to be taken seriously. everyone's kneejerk reaction seems to be immediate animosity towards lesbians & gaslight our experiences with various exuses: "We both experience homophobia" (not on the same level), "men are the real enemy" (and who supports & aids them in getting access to lesbians?), etc. i really think it's because bisexuals are closer to heteros than they are to homosexuals. what i mean by that is in a heteropatriarchy, they are rewarded for their osa, still punished for ssa, of course, but as long as their osa outweighs the ssa, then they are rewarded with privileges that range from escaping homophobia (by getting into osa relationships), being seen as "better" than lesbians — less sinful for choosing men, etc.
we all know qtheroy & qhets push the agenda of rebranding homosexuality as regressive & finding newer and newer ways of making het relationships seem "progressive" (think neopronouns het partner who's poly or whatever lol), bisexuals benefit greatly in that system for having the option to be ssa but choosing the more neo-progressive answer (TIMs, males with whatever attached label that makes it seem unique and oppressed). i wonder if it's a cycle feeding into each other — most oppressed heterosexual relationship while larping as "doubly" oppressed; every biphobic experience can be explained away with varying degrees of homophobia or misogyny. even the abuse statistics & quality of life statistics are just homophobia enacted by men. lesbians have no power to oppress bisexuals, yet they refuse to acknowledge that. there's a hierarchy here. the closer you are to being osa, the more privileged you are. every single sexual orientation actively wants to avoid homosexuality. there's nothing cool about it. to a normie, being a lesbian is a dirty word, and it's disgusting that you want to eat pussy.
there’s no world where homosexuals have systematic power to oppress bisexuals. there is no world where heterophobia is a thing, so homosexuals can’t shame their osa on any systematic level that they can't log off from. that’s not to say bi’s don’t experience homophobia; they do. but they do that because people mistake them for HOMOSEXUALS. there are no laws saying u can’t be bi. but there are laws outlawing homosexuality. i just find the notion of “biphobia” insulting. and the statistic of abused bisexuals they always throw in lesbians' faces has nothing to do with lesbians. It’s literally because men are homophobic and fetishize bisexuals and hurt them at a higher rates due to close proximity. same way men murder more osa women who are their partners. the denominator is men, not lesbians. that abuse stat has nothing to do with lesbians and i don’t think we should be bullied to feel guilty when the data shows 90% of bis partner with men anyway.
also, they always announce they're bisexual to men to fetishize lesbians together with their males as a bonding activity ("me and my man check out girls together") and aid in the fetishization of same sex attraction themselves because they can't stand not being seen as "gay" on some level. it's like a joke. i dont think it's about pride as much as its about attention. otherwise why complain about never being seen as "gay" enough? you're not gay at all. you're bi. the constant need to have privileges while claiming oppression points is exhausting
