while rose’s hair tends to fall in loose waves rather than true curls, there is some natural curl to it that can be enhanced by certain products and methods of hair care. though the weight of her hair usually loosens any distinct curls that form when her hair is wet, moisture can result in some additional curl in her hair. if she diffuses her hair, that natural curl comes through quite nicely. it’s not something she typically has the time or energy to put effort into, but she does enjoy her curls when they shine through or she’s able to enhance them.
they remind her a lot of her mother’s curly hair, and though she’s unlikely to admit it, it’s nice to have something that ties them together appearance wise since she more closely resembles her father, inheriting her skin, eye, and hair coloring from him. having spent her entire life aspiring to feel closer to her mother and longing for her, she likes looking in the mirror and seeing that little piece of janine once they begin to build a healthier, closer relationship.
the same can be said for characteristics of janine’s once they’re in a better place; she looks up to janine a lot and feels proud of the parts of herself she’s gotten from her rather than uncomfortable and/or ashamed of the traits she’s inherited from abe (speaking in a strictly emotional sense now; she doesn’t regret any of her physical traits, but she generally doesn’t like having her personality compared to abe’s.)
