hattersrabbit replied to your post: So here’s the thing about Jeremy Renne...
Nah bro, I’m not down for giving people the ‘Not as big of a jerk as you could have been’ award
I’m not saying we should give him an award. I stand firmly on the side of “You don’t get praise or rewards for doing things you should be doing anyway.”
I’m saying meet the guy half way. I’m saying recognize that what he said wasn’t meant to be taken seriously, that he may not have known it would be so offensive when he said it (not everyone has the exposure to hardcore feminism that we do here on tumblr dot com), that he has a wry sense of humor and happened to get carried away on this one. I’m saying that, as the person who made the joke and knows his motivation, he may be annoyed that people took it too seriously and he had to apologize publicly for a stupid response to an equally stupid question. I’m saying that everyone is real quick to scrutinize the sincerity in his apology, but when it comes to the comment itself, apparently it doesn’t matter whether or not he meant it. I’m saying people on this website are too quick to dismiss someone for a little fuck up (it’s not like he killed a man).
I’m not saying he should be given a trophy. I’m saying he should be given forgiveness. This isn’t about giving him a cookie, it’s just about letting him out of the corner. Take a step back and compromise. He fucked up. He apologized. That’s good enough.
hattersrabbit replied to your photo “My claddagh ring came in the mail today!”
That's so pretty! I don't know if you know, but there's a tradition with claddagh rings, if the heart points out you're looking for love but if points towards you, you're taken. And if you wear it on your left hand out means engaged, in means married
I did know this! :) It's beautiful. I'm going to make sure I wear it with the heart pointed out on my right hand :)
Comics meme! 1, 7 and 14
1. a character you’d be happy never to see again
REED RICHARDS IS SO AWFUL! HE HAS CREEPY ASS STRETCHY POWERS THAT HE USES FOR NO GOOD REASON JUST TO REMIND EVERYONE THAT HE HAS THEM, HE THINKS HE'S BETTER THAN EVERYONE JUST BECAUSE HE'S TECHNICALLY ONE OF THE SMARTEST MEN ON THE PLANET, HE'S A GIANT DOUCHE-CANOE, AND I BET HE SMELLS LIKE OLD GYM SOCKS!
7. two characters you’d like to see swap powers
WHAT IF KITTY PRYDE HAD TO SWITCH WITH NIGHTCRAWLER OR QUICKSILVER?
14. your NOtp
Thorki is horrifying, and I don't understand the mindset it takes to ship it.
Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag [ten] friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know you've tagged them.
