I had a dream last night where A Hat in Time 2 came out and it started with an extremely ominous cutscene between Hat Kid (who is slightly older now) and Cooking Cat wherein it is totally implied Hat Kid is depressed. Then it shifts gears as at the end of the conversation Hat Kid walks into an arena, regains her smile like nothing just happened, and the gameplay starts with a sort of miniboss rush in this arena commentated by Conductor and DJ Grooves while Snatcher provided the opponents. And I just kept running around the place kicking ass then immediately running around Snatcher whenever he appeared in the arena to start the next match . It was awesome. There was a new combo move where you kick someone square in the face after a triple jump and it would knock out guys instantly and seeing Hat Kid do this repeatedly was very entertaining

snatcher gives thomson the next batch of mail to pass around to the subconites before tossing him into the woods to get scammed on impact by the other local ghost in the woods that really really really really wants all that cool stuff in the bag please give it the cool stuff in the bag . andits just another day in the life for thomson

Will the Ahit rant ever come out or nah?

Genuinely though probably not, it's been a Long Time since I worked on that thing and I haven't touched AHIT in so long I don't even know the validity of my own points HKSJHG.

I'd probably have to replay the game again or at least reread all the dialogue to fact check myself . and also massively rewrite it because I think in my own frustration I likely worded things Very Poorly,, and the last thing I want is people thinking I have any amount of True Hatred for the game when I most certainly Do Not !

If you were curious though, the unfinished rant was 35 pages long and a little under 20,000 words. Maybe I can put it up somewhere for people to read, since it most certainly won't be put into a video format any time soon lmao ,,, but I should probably reread it Myself first in case I said anything real stupid at any point shdgkjh

have i mentioned how mad mafia town makes me because it makes me very mad. was running around in-game again getting more footage and remembered this.

So I was rereading my old AHIT rant last night and aside from the fact it reignited some of the same irritation I felt back when I was writing it. I also ended up ADDING to it while rereading it because I realized MORE that I MISSED the first time.

For instance. Hey remember how mad I was about the Mafia and Mafia Town as a chapter in and of itself. Well I came to another realization about how broken and out of place it feels.

It doesn't even. Matter. What we do in Mafia Town doesn't matter. We don't do anything there that makes any difference. At all. By the end of the game it's pretty much exactly the same as how it started. No meaningful change . happened

And you could theoretically argue that for a lot of the chapters but it's. It's very obvious with Mafia Town. You might be thinking "Well hey we 'killed' their boss right? Without a leader maybe they'll eventually fall apart as they're disorganized or--" Nope! Look at Cruise. The Mafia still regard MB as their boss. He is still treated as such. Even as a jar. And given he hasn't changed at all because character growth is a myth here, it's. Well.

Everything is the same . We didn't do . anything

You could erase Hat Kid's interactions with Mafia Town altogether and it would remain exactly as it was before the game even started

What was the point man !!!!!! Why did we even go there !! By the end of the game it's not like we helped Mustache Girl, either! She's just right back where she started !! On that island !! so whY what was the point of it gfb i don't understand . i don't understand Anything

Hollow Knight should have something like A Hat In Time’s smug dance feature . Just so I can just have Ghost bust it down while I’m waiting for Pure Vessel to finish their introduction sequence
