funnily enough, as I mentioned in my last ask, Namine from Kingdom Hearts! growing up I was always the shy, lonely girl with a sketchbook who often felt I was an outsider stuck on the outskirts of everything, like there was a glass mirror between myself and other people who I wanted so badly to join and be like-- things have changed since those days, like an autism diagnosis, that I don't draw much anymore (life; you know how it goes) and that I'm much more comfortable with solitude (I've still never had many friends but I'm perfectly fine in my own company, I actually prefer it most days! I can be myself with all my weird habits and it's actually freeing to not have to try and be some idealised version of "normal"), but I would still say that I strongly identify with her and her struggles :)

maaaaaaan I got a hard one haha.... that's so hard!! been mulling this over for hours and I genuinely don't know BUT I have to say it was the strangest of all picks that came to me, I think I would have to say Jowee the Raposa from Drawn to Life on the DS and not any of my actual childhood favourite games lmfao............. there really was something about that game, that I played as a one-off, there in that empty hallway at lunchtime that stuck with me where I felt that kind of vibe (despite the plot limitations of that premise) :')

I actually just had an anon ask about #7, so my answer is over here!

#10: Would you change canon (past or future) if you could?

YES and I would change most of KH3 tbh haha.............. it wasn't inherently a "bad" story but it just did not at all deliver on what I was hoping for for years and years... so spitballing a few changes without too much deeper thought:

My biggest change to canon would just be rewriting the events leading up to and including the ending so they don't pan out as forced and jankily as it did! From the WoD rescue onwards it bugged me how rushed and overconvoluted it became, like there were very few complicated story developments throughout the game because they were all crammed right into the final segment, instead of giving the narrative more highs and lows evenly throughout like KH2... I just think it needed better balance here, although I WOULD actually keep the end result the same! Sora is my #1 favourite character and it was so crushing to watch him fade away after everything, but I think the direction they're taking (in punting him to another plane of existence... my boy is too powerful) is really interesting so I'd just want to mess with the way the story gets there rather than the actual outcome!

More scenes of interaction between the various characters and trios and the world now that they've all been reunited/brought back! What about a scene where Aqua gets proper concluding introspection on finally getting to drop her guard and sleep in safety in the realm of light? HOW can you have Ven and Roxas in the same room for the first time ever and they just look at eachother and shrug?! (I completely understand compartmentalising because they were right in front of the final boss but like, please give them a quick scene somewhere where they address that, or hell, even a shot during the credits if nowhere else)…….. every single one of these guys would have SO much to hash out with one another and with themselves and about their respective situations and it's damning that almost no-one was thrown a bone in this regard

The preparations leading up to the final confrontation fell incredibly flat, it was just "ooook I think we have (almost) everyone now, let's sleep on it and go tomorrow".......... completely anticlimactic and I would definitely take a pen to that segment, adding in more scenes (and more depth to the existing ones) where you get a better look into each character's psyche and motivations and resolutions given the situation at hand-- KH's strong point has always been its characters and it's so weird to me that it totally dropped the ball here! We were given a crumb where we really should have gotten at least a whole slice of bread ya know? Especially after building up to this moment for so long :>

I would also make it so that the "Sora and Kairi sharing the paopu fruit" scene had a clear definitive answer for whether it was going romantic or staying platonic, because imo it was so subtle it can go either way and that made for a really disappointing conclusion to one of the arcs that got me so invested in the first place lol...... to me, a pairing becoming canon doesn't automatically invalidate my non-canon ships (like... I'm still going to keep shipping it regardless of the canon outcome, so it really affects nothing) so I'd personally prefer a much more concrete resolution here, though I know some would disagree with me! Just felt like over a decade of hinting and pining and for what really :')

Also my dumbest little beef-- I'm retconning the "new princesses of heart" shtick, just add the new ones into the original roster and can we stop affixing "new" onto everything unnecessarily?? "New org XIII" and "new princessess of heart" was just... I don't really have the words right now but it was overdoing it to the point of parody almost lol

for the KH asks -7: Which moment left the biggest impact on you?

I've been mulling this over for a LONG while and I'm not sure there was a specific singular moment, but I think it would actually have to be a series of smaller ones throughout the first game I played (KH2), and that would be following the narrative of Sora's crush on Kairi of all things lol......... I had no clue about any of the events of the first game but it was all cute and sad and kinda mushy so when they finally got to reunite in the World That Never Was, that scene was a Big Deal™ to me back then and I went rabid shipper over it and yyyyyeah that was a thing :'D I've always been a hopeless romantic so I latched onto that story arc as a big part of my investment for a long time lmao, I still hugely enjoy Sokai but I very quickly branched off into Soriku and Sorikai among others-- side-tangent but I think that having shipper's brainrot is a GREAT way to remain invested in a series longterm because even if the series kind of "dead ends" the romance arc you wanted or concludes it in a safe boring way like KH3 or just has a billion year gap between games, because you (usually) have an infinite well of juicy fan-content to keep the enjoyment going haha.......... Also just in general, the rest of the game from TWTNW onwards was majorly impactful, it was just so cool!! Still one of my favourite final fights and ending sequences to this day~

how does your wol's echo manifest itself? do they see visions as they happen? all at once? delayed? do they get any physical symptoms from it?

really delayed response-- I'm back from housesitting for the past week and now I have access to my D'nyr infodump to be able to answer! thank you for your patience _/(_ _)\_

D'nyr's Echo manifests in the same way as the canon WoL, as flashes of future-or-past sight upon close contact with particular persons and items! Visions spin up within a few seconds of contact and tend to finish fairly swiftly, as if on fast forward. If there's multiple visions, they tend to be staggered with a short ~1 minute delay in-between, rather than occurring back to back! He, unfortunately, cannot decline to view them :') He's mostly immobilised while they happen; he does retain some limited awareness of the present, but it's like trying to swim through molasses with a migraine and this peculiar disassociative numbness in his limbs, probably caused by the speed mismatch in his now-concurrent perceptions of time (he could maybe blindly stumble away a few steps but that's about it-- it's his worst and most inconvenient weak point of all, leaving him almost totally in others' care until it passes). D'nyr is usually fine after use of his Echo (willing or otherwise), but sometimes retains a slight to moderate headache. He's learned to shrug it off at the worst of times, but usually needs some downtime to rest and recover-- when he can, that is!

1. top artist my favourite artist of all time is Kenshi Yonezu! his stuff has gotten me through both good and bad times (as it has for many people) and I really resonate with way he structures his lyrics and the melancholy that undercuts most of them in some way-- I've been following Yonezu since he was the Vocaloid producer Hachi, well before his first real-name release in Diorama, and it's been a real joy to watch his career progression in real-time as he's become a household name doing high-profile works for all kinds of things nowadays :) (it was one of the highlights of my trip to Japan back in 2018 hearing Lemon playing at the konbini and like five other places, that's how you know your boy has made it haha)

14. a song you love to dance to I'm not really a dancey person but I do tend to wiggle around and tap on my desk along to songs that I really vibe with, which is close enough I guess-- I really like Welcome! by Da-iCE! their whole discography is a bop and Damn it! from the same album is another great song to wiggle to :'D

16. a song that feels how you feel right now been in a really cafe-jazzy, light poppy-swingy kind of mood lately while I've been working on this fanmix does any of that even make sense, so my vibe today is Kohan no Fune by Bitei Matsuki! he's just released his first album the other month and it's all fantastic stuff in that kind of easy listening style, I'm very tempted to order a copy of my own because it just sounds so dang nice :'D

4. Does your OC have a failed friendship or relationship they still think about? What happened? Is it an unresolved regret or is there a chance for reconciliation?

...y'know, I actually haven't really got much in particular I can use for this question to be honest! D'nyr isn't much of a people-person and has grown up without many/any close connections with others besides his foster mother-- not really from lack of trying, moreso because his reticent, quiet personality has made it hard for him to approach others growing up (and hard for those who approach him to get to know him better beyond surface-level small talk!)

however I would say that he definitely has unresolved regrets from his lack of strong connections to others! his occupation as an adventurer certainly doesn't help matters since he's always on the move, taking him far away from anyone he gets close(r) to... for now he's content enough in his own company for acquaintances to become friends and friends fade back into acquaintances, to let things lapse and ebb naturally and if someone should be persistent enough to keep in touch in spite of that, he would let them in... but as he's (metaphorically) cursed to wander and never settle, that's a tall order that may never come!

( though, in a roundabout way, I guess all of this is a valid answer to the question! )

hot pink— what’s your favorite relationship trope?

HMMMMM this is a tough one! (in the sense of trying to find the words to convey it lol) I like the kind of oblivious slow-burn relationships where they're just kinda doing their day-to-day existing around eachother and gradually start picking up on/indulging small mannerisms and habits ("ham sandwiches make her eyes light up in a way that's endearing... and weirdly entrancing, can't put my finger on why though... maybe I'll surprise her with one so I can see that sparkle again"), where it's immediately obvious to other people who soon start commenting on how close they are, where they're clueless until it's too late and then one day something happens and they realise "oh no. they were totally right, this IS a thing and now I'm in deep" bonus points if it comes at a dramatic or tense moment where everything around them is going to hell in a handbasket and when they're with eachother it's like immediate calm in the eye of the storm... waxing poetic here but I hope you get what I mean! (*∩´ω`∩*)
