There are some things I remember, that I won't forget of course, couldn't forget. Days when we would hang out and it felt natural to have your arm draped across my shoulder, felt natural to hide in your bed, under the covers, a tangle of limbs. You would whisper my name and kiss my neck, there was a shared warmth between us. I'd keep my hand in your hair, on your cheek. I keep that image of you, of us, where I keep everything else that hurts, locked up somewhere deep inside (my head, my heart?), only to be taken out, when I want to torture myself. I hate that you've gone away and left me in this city. And yet I want you further still. Some lingering presence, ghost remains and I am forced to confront it at every turn, every corner. I long for the days when this place was mine and mine alone, not tainted with such visions. I so desperately wish I could erase every detail of you and me, every bit of shared history. But sometimes I don't know who I'd be, if I hadn't met you.
