Many years ago Old Man Nelson lived here. Most of the time he isolated himself, but when he did come into town he was mean and nasty to townsfolk, especially local children. Suddenly, children went missing and were never seen again. Mr. Nelson died mysteriously and the cabin has been empty ever since… kind of. People party here from time to time, but people still go missing. What happened to them? What happened to Mr. Nelson? What's in the shack?

This was the second cabin we had to stay at. It looks haunted, doesn't it? There's a rusty child's bicycle in the weeds, and apparently nobody under the age of 18 is allowed on the deck, which put together make me wonder what happened there. Also it had no wifi and was in the middle of nowhere. #cabin #carostory #hauntedcabin

Megan has been coming out to the cabin every summer since Eric and Liz brought her and James with them on their family vacation after their sophomore year of high school. Things have changed since then – Eric’s gotten married; James is now exclusively gay – but the tradition remains: the axis of peace and hope and, for lack of a better word, family around which her otherwise banal and depressing year revolves.
