Watching the @edmontonoilers getting their asses handed to them and pivoting to the Left Bank in Pessac-Leognan with the 2003 @chateauhautbergey This is a nice example of mature #Bordeaux with a light + to medium body and aromatics of plum, cherry and currant with light notes of pipe tobacco. This wine was absolutely trashed by @wine_advocate earning a score of 80 points which was undrinkable in Bob’s perspective. Time has been kinder than Parker’s notes as this has a bright core of acid and secondary notes of graphite and cedar. This reminds me more of wines from the 2004 or 2006 vintage than the usual ultra ripe examples from 03. Assessed at 16 Deg C, this is actually quite interesting and elegant and worth a try if the old style of claret is up your alley. 54% Cabernet Sauvignon and 46% Merlot. #hautbergey #pessacleognan (at Tuscany, Calgary) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDXGCmnJ-kE/?igshid=1c7myy7borwil
