Figure this might be of interest to somebody. It's a n in development app/website called Haven that'll be geared towards the protection of artists against AI and protection against surveillance and mass data collecting. It's not an avaliable site yet but this video is an abridged interview with one of the founders. They want the site to be as big as Insta or Twitter but since they won't be selling our data they need a bit of a kick to get started. I'd suggest any of you to go check out the video, it's interesting.
I'm all here for the unshitification of a social media app, so every proposal like the one here is welcome in my book
The Haven bible app is owned / produced by a shady American company with almost zero available public information, it is militantly centrist in its dogmatic interpretation of Scripture, in that it is generally trinitarian and orthodox and won't rock the boat unless you ask it for other specific interpretations, it has very strict guardrails as a chatbot and won't even engage with any attempts to get around those, it defaults to the NIV (I think), it posts replies at a pace and in a format that I guess is supposed to look like someone typing a live IM and I don't know who the hell asked for that in 2025, AND it costs $7 A WEEK. Yes, a week.
It is literally a more expensive and worse version of any free AI chatbot. So, perfectly in line with the traditional Christian merch grift.
They also really push Haven as a "spiritual advisor," where you tell it how you're sad and it condescendingly tells you Jesus wants you to smile. Which is about the saddest fucking use for this I can think of, so probably don't lead with this, guys.
There is zero reason for anyone to use this, unless you're some fundamentalist who loves AI but wants to severely limit what it can do to "talk about the (English) Bible" and "give me shallow feel-good advice based on a contemporary generalized Evangelical reading of the Bible."
They're really positioning this as a "for all Christians" thing. But they'd probably be better off making it strictly Evangelical or strickly Catholic, because trying to flutter around the midpoint of the two is only going to make it say sex is bad and you should obey what preachers tell you, and not much else.
I didn't ask it any Mormon stuff. But if it's trying to be a biblical generalist, I can't imagine it's going to handle that well, since half of what they're into is highly unorthodox. Also I don't care, because $7 A WEEK, are you kidding me with this?
Edward Snowden’s Haven App will turn your phone into a spy tool @Snowden #App #phone #spy #Snowden Snowden told Moudeina that he was operating on an app that could turn a mobile device into a kind of motion sensor in form to notify you when your things are being tampered with.
