                  ONLY   DAYS   TILL   THE   FULL   MOON ,     and   somehow   it’s   crept   up   on   her   once   again .     after   three   years ,   one   would   think   she’d   learn   to   use   her   lunar   calendar .     and   yet   here   she   is ,   once   again ,   frantically   making   plans .        ❛     what   do   you   usually   do   around   here ?     i   thought   maybe   i’d   take   a   run   in   the   forest ,   but   i’m   worried   about   running   into   hikers .     ❜        saoirse   hasn’t   attacked   a   human   yet .     she’s   not   exactly   eager   to   change   that  .        ❛     maybe   i   should   just   handcuff   myself   in   our   basement .     ❜

        ❛    D’YOU   EVER   THINK   ABOUT   TRYING   fetch ?     i   watch   foster   play   sometimes ,   and   ---     ❜       benjamin   shrugs ,   eyes   still   fixed   upon   his   dog .     mere   feet   away ,   she   mouths   at   her   favorite   ball .     how   different   are   they   from   actual   dogs ,   at   the   end   of   the  day ?     they   certainly   chase   each   other   around   just   the   same .       ❛     i   don’t   know .     it   can’t   be   that   much   harder   than   catching   grapes   in   your   mouth ,   right ?     ❜

         ❛     IF   ONE   MORE   TODDLER   HURLS     over   the   counter   while   their   parents   totally   ignore   them ,   i’m   going   to   lose   it .     ❜        how   hard   is   it   to   clean   up   after   your   own   children ?     a   scowl   on   her   face ,   madeleine   ducks   into   the   kitchen   for   some   paper   towels .        ❛     vi ,   if   i   commit   murder ,   will   you   help   me   hide   the   body ?     we   can   run   away   together !     rob   some   banks .     like   thelma   and   louise ,   without   the   driving   off   a   cliff   part .     ❜
