I have an OC named Häxeri (witchcraft/sorcery). Ever since I learned that the "x" in Nahuatl has a "sh" sound, I've been calling it Hasheri instead. No hex. Corrupted.
Ha-sheh-ri, with "ri" having more of a "d" sound? Ha-"sherry" would be incorrect.
They're my OCs, and I get to choose how their names are pronounced! I can see it now, a need for a pronunciation key with listening examples.
Hasheri is a grim, man-eating lindworm. It is a monstrous serpent with antler horns and a long mane. It has dark scales and a lighter underbelly. Hasheri has a pair of forelimbs but no back legs or wings. Territorial.
Ancient texts (my old notes) say that the shape of Hasheri's skull resembles the head shapes of the Jamnapari and Nubian goat breeds. It has rectangular pupils! The Dilophosaurus is also mentioned, probably because of the bony crests. It has flat teeth and a bony pad replacing the top incisors.
That description was just a test for the new pronunciation.

It's some kind of creature. If it was not a lindworm, I would call it a bog dragon. It can emerge from any peat bog, tar pit, asphalt lake, or even acid tar waste. It's interesting how it can represent both decay and preservation at the same time.
"The Unquiet Grave" - I had this song listed in a possible playlist for Haxeri. I have no idea what this would mean for the character. Although Haxeri is capable of human speech, I don't remember it having much contact with humans. That doesn't mean it never had any contact with humans. How would it be labeled a man-eater otherwise?
