Lance knew better than to attempt to go hand to hand with his opponent, his talents were focused around long range combat, not close range. He began to open fire on the Dreian, hoping to take him down before he had a chance of getting close.
His heart skipped a beat as his target suddenly went low, weaving through his shots right towards him! He was too fast for him to get a clear shot on and before he knew it, the Dreian was right in front of him.
He didn’t even have a chance to react before he felt a boot slam into his midsection, knocking him off his feet and sprawling a short ways from where he had been standing. He’d let out a loud yelp of pain, any air he had in his lungs had been knocked out of him and the force of the Dreian’s kick easily broke ribs even with his Paladin Armor.
He gasps in attempt to catch his breath while on the ground, his deep blue eyes wide with fear as he sees his opponent storming towards him. He clumsily scrambles to grab his bayard, firing off a shot that got no where close to his mark. He could hardly breath, his body trembling from the shock of the kick and he knew that it had done a good amount of damage.
Guess who decided to spend all day sketching and inking a silly Spirited Away AU with the Galra as the Bathhouse staff?
ME! :D
This is part one, featuring Throk as Kamaji and Haxus as Lin, the other parts will be posted shortly.

HAXUSS GETS A STARTER
the tumult of klaxons and proximity alarms end abruptly once the stolen ship enters hyperspace. this is it: their break. weeks of testing haxus’ limits culminating in the rebel attack and their freedom, and now they find themselves at a crossroadsL the empire wants them dead. the rebels will never trust them— not with haxus, not with the position he held. and so it’s matt’s job to make them trust him.
but that’s a concern for another time: now his fingers still strain, anxious, over the ship’s controls. he expects the galra fleet to appear behind them at any moment, taking none too kindly to the loss of their lieutenant commander and his prisoner. sickening seconds pass like eons in his mind. one. two. three. but the galra never come.
he allows himself a shaky exhale— relief. “ I think we’re safe. ”
“ you haven’t made the best impression here. ” while worded like an accusation, he doesn’t pronounce it like one. regardless, it wasn’t exactly something meant to be replied to, and as if to emphasize it, the holographic figure inclines his head toward the galran’s arm, made of old altean tech, half faulty. “ i see some of the technology here is still... salvageable, at best. ”

Well, that was putting it mildly, wasn’t it?
Valoren hadn’t meant to get tangled up in this per-say. Getting involved with Haxus’ work had been a bit of an accident in the first place, but he had mercifully put up with her presence since then. Possibly because she had been silent and absorbed in her own work while silently monitoring his: she had learned quick that Haxus seemed to prefer that, and she was, frankly, accommodating to that. This development was not on her particular agenda, but she wasn’t letting it go to waste.
She had just finished putting on her glasses and adjusting the recording input in the lens when his words began to actually sink in for her.
The propagandist’s ears fell back, flat and concerned, as a wry smile pulled at her lips. “Pardon, ‘we’? Lieutenant Haxus, when you say ‘we need to get it away from them,’ you don’t mean for me to participate, do you? As in combat?”
It wasn’t that she couldn’t. Well. So long as there was a lot of distance between her and her target, and she had a gun in her hand. But it still wasn’t something that Valoren could say she was chomping at the bit to participate in again.
“Unless that is precisely what you mean.”
@haxuss
“Do not think that just because you are aboard this ship and have agreed to aid us, that I do not still know what you are. Nor that I will hesitate to cut you down should you prove untrustworthy.”
She looked to him with a cold, unmoving gaze. She knew why the Paladins had spared him, and would not deny that yes, he could prove very resourceful to them, but she knew how quickly the other shoe could drop with a Galra. She would be keeping a close eye on this one.

She grinned and laid her head back against the wall, putting her open hand over her knee once he took it from her.It was amazing what drugs would make you do and say. But that was neither here nor there anymore. Best not to be thought on.
“Hay-shar...? Like that? That’s the layering technique, then and not the metal?” She glanced back to the ring on his finger, what’d’ya know, it fit one. She smirked, fairly pleased. “I was rummaging through a box at the garbage dump of a thrift store just off the port. Dropped something and found this under some shelves covered in dust. Since it was so clearly forgotten and unappreciated. I miiiiighta... just pocketed it.”
She gave a surprisingly bubbly chuckle at that, knowing it was not something she should be particularly proud of, and yet- she just waved it off and excused herself with the follow-up. “I paid for the rest.”
“So what sort of things did your mother do with metalworking?”
