I forgot how much of a breath of fresh air Calvin and Hayley were. Having an established couple in a team was something the show had never done before. And for it to be an interracial couple with a black woman in it, it’s truly a unique thing. And that they’re both very steady and reasonable people and their way of communicating is healthy and grounded, it’s great. They’re almost opposites, he’s more of a work with his hands guy and she goes with her head, she’s very driven and motivated and he’s very relaxed and reserved, she’s more about nature and he’s a mechanic, it’s incredible.
