Story:

She didn’t know why she’d been killed. All that she knew was that one moment, Olivejay was asking her if she would be his mate once she got her warrior name, and the next, she was bleeding out on the ground.

Starclan didn’t seem inclined to care.

So she took matters into her own paws.

She started by appearing to Haypad in a dream, hoping desperately that he would get the message.

He did.

The next day, Olivejay was dead, and Wildpaw felt a surge of relief that she had done the right thing.

But Haypad didn’t stop. He kept killing, and killing, until he was caught.

Wildpaw stayed with him the whole time, praising her avenger for bringing justice to the Clans, even as his mental state spiraled dangerously. She didn’t know how to stop him, and all she could do was stay by his side and try to direct some of his rage to those that ‘deserved’ it.

When he was finally killed, he appeared on trial, and they were both cast out from Starclan, cursed to always appear together. Fused in death as in life.

Story:

It wasn’t fair! 

He had looked down at Wildpaw’s body, still warm with life, then around the clearing, as though he would see her murderer emerge from the trees.

The wind blew through the trees, bringing olive leaves blowing into his face. He shook them away and carried the body back to camp.

That night, as he slept, he saw Wildpaw waving an olive branch, a swarm of jays flying around her like a cyclone of feathers. Her gaze was frantic, and it didn’t take a genius to figure out who she meant.

Olivejay.

The tom had always been weird around Wildpaw, taking too much interest in her at every turn.

Haypad killed him. Ripped him open. Then went after Watersong, one of Newclan’s many medicine cats, who had given birth to Olivejay many moons before.

That night, Wildpaw had thanked him, purring as she called him the bravest cat in the clans. A harbinger of justice.

He set out on his new crusade the next day.

Over the course of a single moon, he dispatched four rogues. The next moon, six.

Unfortunately for Haypad, in his crusade, he had forgotten to fuel his body, and he would’ve died hungry--if his daughter hadn’t found him first.

Idea: after a long time in the DF, Haypad and Wildpaw kind of fuse together, and start going by the name Haywild

For a split second I thought that Haypad was Wildpaw and I was thrown back by the idea that Olivejay wanted to be with his kin (who was also an apprentice)
