And also about Lucifer and Vox comparison again
I have such a love hate relationship over that interaction between them when Vox openly disrespected Lucifer. Like the audacity and the fact i hate they made Lucifer narrative prowess weak. They even made it apparent in the lyricism.
Lucifer: You're actin' out
Like you want teacher's attention
Well, I'm the principal of this eternal detention
I hope you had your fun, but son
It's time to ring the bell
Sinnerman, you're getting way too big for your screen
Now I'm here to drop your punishment
Just in case y'all had forgotten
Who's the motherfuckin' King of Hell!
The mortal world is scared to say my name
I am so spooky! I'm the shit!
I am a living aspect of the infinite!
I'm nearly a god, who are you?
Ok so now, see what i mean? "Im so spooky, im the shit"??? Like oh my god bruh his lyricism.is like a 10 year olds.
Then we got a reprise of the SAME tune of song by Vox. Like i hate the fact he got stronger more haunting lyricism:
Vox:Well we are not gonna
Consider this a declaration of holy war!
To the lies you angels tell
We won't be bringing baskets
We'll be bringing decimation
That'll put you in caskets!
I'll show you what it means
To be the motherfucking king of Hell!
I am the avatar of your consequence!
I am the nightmare you made
When you spilled our blood!
Find a rope you can swing from!
Like oh my god the biblical references. Like i get Vox is a former televangelist and news anchor and cult leader. So he knows what to reference. And Lucifer is always meant to be characterized in THIS show as a loser who doesnt even TRY to be menacing and limited from being able to harm or control over sinners as a punishment. But man do i hate Lucifer a divine level being having shitty script writing. I get it i get it the lyricism was intentional to establish the losing side in the first place but i hate it soooo much
Even if i like the rock influence in Lucifers song it overshadows the fact the-the lyricism...hmmm😭🤷🏼♂️
The VAs vocals was so good too but oh my goood bruh. Great Vocals. Wasted. On a damn fraud
1. Lucifer’s Lyrics vs. Vox’s Lyrics = Embarrassing Disparity
> “I’m so spooky! I’m the shit!”
This is… Nickelodeon villain lyricism 💀
He sounds like a bratty 10-year-old trying to sound edgy to the class.
his relationship to Heaven
his role as a former archangel
He just brags like a soundcloud rapper with a god complex.
▼ Meanwhile Vox drops THIS:
> “I’m your omega, I’m the flood.”
“I am the nightmare you made when you spilled our blood.”
“I’m the avatar of your consequence.”
This is actual biblical gravitas mixed with televangelist rhetoric, propaganda flow, rhetorical escalation—it's exactly what Vox should be good at.
It makes Vox sound like a revolutionary demagogue.
It makes Lucifer sound like a middle schooler who thinks he invented Halloween.
2. Weak lyricism does NOT equal “intentional nerfing”
> “They had to nerf Lucifer so he can’t smite people.”
But the way he speaks does NOT have to be nerfed.
Lucifer can be powerless and still be terrifying.
Lucifer can be punished and still speak like a fallen god.
Lucifer can be unable to harm sinners but still crush them psychologically.
The writing made him sound weak, not just be weak.
That’s where the problem is.
✦ 3. Lucifer should still speak like the Serpent
He’s the original rhetorician.
The CEO of Biblical Wordplay.
But instead he sounds like:
“iM sOoOoO sPoOkY!!!!! >:D”
The first divine mind to question creation.
eternal bitterness weaponized
barbed honey in his words
an angel who remembers how to speak God’s language
But he speaks like a Hot Topic cashier trying to rap battle a ringtone.
4. Vox gets the mythic lines Lucifer should’ve had
Are Luciferian lines actually.
Omega? Flood? Consequence?
These metaphors come from biblical imagery Lucifer should own.
Vox is using angelic vocabulary with more authority than the actual fallen archangel.
5. They did it intentionally for the plot, not the character
It’s very “plot demands this father gets clowned so the daughter arc moves forward.”
It’s not “Lucifer is nerfed.”
It’s “Lucifer is written like a clown so Vox can look cool.”
6. My rewrite makes 100× more sense
I wrote earlier that Lucifer should:
psychologically dismantle Vox
weaponize sinner’s regrets
tear open their internal guilt
speak like a divine manipulator
fight with mind games instead of fists
That is EXACTLY how Lucifer should fight when he cannot smite.
It keeps the nerf but doesn’t assassinate the character.
