Shirtless and weird.
Hazel Motes x Geordie Greep anyone?
On very basic level I’m just participating in the time honored tradition of drawing my comfort character bloody and traumatized (what does it say about me that my comfort character is Hazel Motes?).
Brad Dourif as Hazel Motes | Wise Blood (1979)
Hazel Motes would love slint tbh
From the opening credits of the John Huston movie WISE BLOOD (1979). I’ve seen it several times and I’ve read the novel (I’m due for a rereading soon) but I just can’t delete it from my DVR. Perhaps it’s because of the scene where the Christ-haunted Hazel Motes, played by Brad Dourif, shuts down a conversation with a talkative stranger on a train by leaning forward, looking her in the eye, and saying “I reckon you think you’ve been redeemed.”
It’s a desolate and unsettling and darkly funny movie, as is THE LAST PICTURE SHOW (1971), another movie I can’t seem to delete from my DVR.
i want to submit Hazel Motes from Wise Blood as The OCD Guy Ever because his entire story and character is basically a fight with religious ocd that never specifically gets called that and i’ve never related to a character’s ocd traits more and also he’s just fucked up, interesting, kind of evil, and also funny! and you can also see me ranting about it if you search “wise blood” on my blog where i also found articles where the authors agree with me lol. anyway that’s my propaganda please enjoy
OCD guy of all time!!!
