Academics are so annoying because they discredit everything they ever do like today I interviewed a very prominent researcher in my department and she told me to do this GeoDa mapping, graphing and whole entire regression analysis telling me it'd take "10 minutes" and help my project (which it would) but I read her paper and in fact it was based off of over a decade of quant research and used quite complex statistical software...

The final nail in the coffin is that she is self-proclaimedly not "statistically minded" and told me I could replicate the exact same results in this fuckass project I have to present tomorrow
