Why is it that when people reblog fanfics and they write something (for example, this is amazing!!) They write it in the tags and not in tha main body?
ahh, thank you thank you! - so, a thoughtful question you have posed!! let me provide some thoughts
there are a couple reasons why a blogger might not add their additions to a post:
reblogging posts and adding your words into the body means whoever reblogs from you will have your additions! This is good for back and forth, blog-to-blog conversations but can create quiet the large addition on say an artwork or a work of fiction (when you add into the body, it becomes a bit more personal)
it’s an aesthetic choice - some blogs prefer to keep as close to the original content as possible. For instance, I will avoid adding my additions to artwork so it can be shared with many many people :)
they are on a reblog spree - a person has a short window or they noticing a lot of things they like so instead of writing their gush of feelings they simple tag it and move on
they want to catalogue it for their own use - i do this with ‘hazels museum’ - artwork that I like I tag it as such and then a few little comments so it keeps the artwork the focus but also allows me to go back to that tag and see all the pretties I’ve found
they are tag spammers and not addition adders - there are some people who really really enjoy talking in the tags! it feels less on the spotlight, it’s a bit more ‘throw into the wind’ as I like to imagine it -- not everyone looks at the tags so it can be a safer place for people to share their feelings
These aren’t all the reasons but as I’ve been around for a year and also participate in the culture of tumblr, these are the items I’ve observed and can empathize as to why people choose them :)
