hazelnut chocolate can be deceptive on the outside as people think it will be sweeter or less textured. likewise, people are intimidated by the aged rind of comté and do not expect the sweetness of the cheese inside

both are excellent melters

serving suggestions:

enjoy with bread, butter, a tart jam such as currant, and a glass of sherry for an evening treat

serve alongside a salad made of bitter greens, such as fennel or arugula, and red fruits such as ruby plums

eat just the two in your kitchen late at night with only the light over the sink (or equivalent, you get the vibe) to guide your chocolate-and-cheese adventure. then, go to sleep and dream of singing karaoke and sharing a scooter with someone whose company you thoroughly enjoy
