Are You Ready
A non-excerpt excerpt from Demons in Between. This is a scene that 100% will take place, but will not be in the actual book. Happy Teaser Tuesday!
“Are you ready?”
Hazina looked up, her dark hair loose and free, and blinked at the bearded old man in front of her.
“Ready for what?” she asked. A moment of concentration and her hair was bound back into the braids and bun she'd favoured in the mortal world.
Nereus gave a small nod and smiled. “Your control is improving. Good.” His smile disappeared and he looked off into the grey distance. “The nekudaemon are especially restless. The creature is close to acting.”
She frowned. “The nekudaemon have been growing steadily more restless ever since my friends' forays here. Why do you think As-- the creature is connected?”
“Wherever it goes, it leaves a stain on the very essence of the Between. Some day, if you stay here long enough, you'll be able to feel such things. For now, you'll have to take my word for it--it is strongest where the nekudaemon are causing the most problems.”
“Mm.”
He quirked an eyebrow, the wrinkles on his face smoothing and threads of brown streaking through his hair and beard. “Do you not trust me?”
Hazina gave him a politely restrained smile and shook her head. “While I trust you to not purposefully put me in danger, I also know you, like most gods, will only tell me what you believe will lead me to do what you want. Whether or not it is in my best interests.”
His de-aging halted, leaving him roughly middle-aged, and he grinned. “You've learnt much. Hopefully it will be enough.” Before she could say or ask anything else, he said, “Wait for your friends near the Balearic Court. They will need all your skills and cleverness if they are to survive the creature's machinations.”

Chapter 1 is out! This took way to long to ink, it was still fun thou! I have been really wanting to do a comic story for the longest time and to be honest i really enjoy it! the next chapter will be in two weeks! I think that will be a good schedule (well until college starts of course i might change it..) For now! enjoy and see you next time!
