Pink Heart Camo HazMaPo
2005 SDCC Exclusive
- from HazMaPo Series A1
- by Unkl
An extremely rare release from the long defunct toy collective known as Unkl*
Limited to only 300 pieces for San Diego Comic Con back in 2005.
HazMaPo were the signature line from Unkl. Round headed fully vinyl figures wearing gas masks - with different sculpts and different colorways. They were beautiful little toys, some of the best to come out of the early 2000s designer vinyl boom.
They had stunning designs. And more importantly - they're one of the few modern vinyls that actually smelled like vinyl.
You other vinyl heads know what I mean. There's nothing else like it.
Unkl was a favorite of mine and my daughter's. They had a cartoon on TV, a small line of apparel, and plenty of attention from the community. We used to drive all over looking for their stuff. We even ordered some clothes from their website.
And now their biggest releases are almost 20 years old.
Time is really the rarest thing of all.
(* I hope I'm wrong, please correct me if they're still out there somewhere. My daughter and I would be ecstatic to find out they still exist in some form.)
