about your theater jason!! imagine jason trying it out anyway in highscool, joining the theater club but being scared what b and alfred would say, because being robin is more important right? saving the people? training? so he tries to keep it a secret and he asks alfred to come later for him bc he wants to do his hw with his friends (and ok jay rlly feels guilty about the lying), and while he didnt have a friends in class, this theater club is kind of okay?? like ppl talk to him and think +
and he's funny and when ppl get to know him (while jay terrified bc wow ppl wanting to talk with him in school is so strange for him?) and then he has to balance his schoolwork (and he needs it to be great and good bc what if b kicks him out if he doesnt do good) and the robin work, and now the theater stuff, memorising the lines and the first time they r doing pair work, his pair just so floored?? bc jay is doing good and when they wont stop staring jay is like +
"what i know i have place to improve dont look at me like that" but his pair is like nah that was great kid, "kid?? im lit one year younger than u ??" ANYWAY just long hours of rehearsing and he needs to tell this alfred and bruce right? but just jay being scared of their reactions and when he finally tells it to alfred jay has the perfect opportunity, they r alone and jay just want to talk, maybe ask alfred if bruce would ever kick him out if he isnt robin all the nights and just imdying
i’m dying. omg. those are definitely things theater jason would worry about. he’s a little overdramatic and as such, tends to overthink, play scenarios that have little to no groundings of reality. these are perfect.
but anyway, theater jason having friends from the theater club. and since he rarely have those, he’s all - “wait, we’re friends?” “fuck kid, what’s with that incredulity. course we are.” and i just love imagining freshman jason surrounded by juniors and seniors.
jason “i have a street rep” todd and his theater club seniors “yes, you are known as the gangly drama geek now let’s go and rehearse”
and since you ended with alfred. can you imagine the pride? because, of course, alfred knows. alfred knows all. so, he lets jason thinks he doesn’t know but he does, and oh, how proud he is and he waits for jay to come to him. he has so many things he wants to tell him - to teach him about the theater. but he decided that he’ll wait for jay to approach him first.
and, oh, when jay finally tells - guess who his biggest fan is? not bruce, not his dad. it’s definitely alfred.
speaking of which, bruce being a good dad and making sure to always be there during jay’s opening night - and unless there’s a really bad crime, he makes sure that jay doesn’t have to patrol.
“i’m not taking robin from you. but i’m expecting you to manage your time.”
“yes, sir boss-man, sir.”
and jason, oh jason always reserves seats somewhere at the front for bruce and alfred.
