hc event - When you were a child, what did you dream of being when you grew up?

I think the dream job I had for the longest was a veterinarian. I’ve always loved animals, and getting to spend my entire day working with and helping all of the adorable animals just sounded perfect to me. I eventually shifted away from that after deciding to work toward helping other people in a professional context, but I did volunteer at an animal shelter in Stanford for a few years.

hc event - Do you believe or not believe in astrology? Why, why not? How are you like or not like your star sign?

Astrology is fun to think about, but it has no actual impact on our lives. Have you seen how different some sets of triplets are? I don’t believe the position of enormous balls of gas have any real say on my life or personality, or on anyone else’s. I’m a Taurus, and I wouldn’t say I fit the stubborn, bull-headed stereotype very much, though I would say I’m fairly responsible. That could fit someone born any time of year, though.

( headcanon event ) Do you believe it’s okay to tell a lie and under what circumstances?

Lies can be okay when they’re said for the right reasons. Those reasons have to be saving someone from some kind of hurt (whether it’s grief, embarrassment, or something in between), while not inadvertently hurting anyone else through the telling of the lie. If your friend loves her new haircut and it’s not a style you like, telling the truth would just hurt her.

( headcanon event ) Do you believe it’s okay to tell a lie and under what circumstances?

In most circumstances, no. On rare occasion, however, it can be. When a lie is necessary for someone’s safety, then I’d say you have an obligation to lie. White lies are sort of a muddy thing. I don’t really like them based on the principle, but you have to be absolutely sure that it’s not going to hurt the other person in the end.
