REUNITED AT LAST.

window shopping was all that tatsuya was doing, his teddiursa secure in his arms and his zoroark disguised as a random, passing citizen walking beside him. they had a day off from helping his mother at the daycare, and knew his pokémon needed another day of rest before going back into training, so he decided he’d go elsewhere and have a walk to occupy his time. he didn’t really know how long his walk would be, nor did he know where to even go other than wherever his subconscious decided to take him. he’s been out for a few hours, but he trusted his pokémon enough to be able to leave them alone for a little while longer.
he was still a little bored, though.
not to mention, the rookie gym leader was having a tough time focusing on anything with teddy fidgeting and fussing in his arms. he’s trying to jump out of his arms, and he knows this well, but he acts before he realizes and once his hold is a little looser, the young pokémon jumps down, running in a whole different direction for arceus knows what. he doesn’t even realize how quick the smaller pokémon is, as he quickly goes in and out of view as he and zoroark chase him. on the bright side, zoroark was following by scent, not by sight. ( otherwise their chase would be entirely useless. )
“teddy! come back here!”
he caused more problems for tatsuya than he could’ve ever imagined, the younger pokémon too reckless for his liking, but he wouldn’t trade him for the world. ever since his first month with him, the gym leader knew that he was going to be a handful, and braced himself for anything that the teddiursa would. as soon as the pair caught up with teddy, he was out of breath and zoroark hadn’t broke a sweat. the teddiursa was playing with another smaller pokémon, a pichu, probably the pokémon that belonged to the trainer just a foot away from the scene like him. zoroark reverted back to her original form, growling ( scolding ) towards teddy.
“i’m sorry if he disturbed you, he gets himself into these kinds of situations often...” he looked back at the two young pokémon, an amused grin on his face. “... they seem to know each other?”
