sitting in the back of his car, bare chest falling up and down at a slowly steadying pace, cal really wondered how things ended up this way. was it nostalgia that he craved that had them crawling into the back of the car in a place he knows they’ve been stopped before? they were supposed to be done with this, both of their paths having crossed and gone past its limit. he thought that after they split, after he kissed the girl that ended up being his now fiance, that they would never be in this situation. yet here they were, too close to each other to just be friends but too far apart to be more. cal had a hard time looking her in the eyes, looking out the window and watching a car go by. “so...” he said slowly, hand brushing through his hair and pushing it back so it wasn’t all in his face. for the first time in a moment he looked to her, biting his lip as he took in her appearance. part of it was out of his creation, out of hands roaming all over and kisses pressed against her skin. it gave him great pride, even when it shouldn’t. “what do we do now?” as in, right now. in the future. everything. cal was confused as to how they should handle this.
