Ever since the 2005 lottery draft its been all about Sidney. The second guy to save the penguins, but what happens when a new guy come along? You win back to back Stanley cups, a World cup and Two Conn Smythe Trophy for Mvp of the playoffs. Sidney Crosby is not ready to pass the torch.
At the beginning of the 2015-2016 Season. Conner McDavid’s rookie year. The Pittsburgh Penguins had a tough start. Sidney Crosby hit one of the Biggest Slums in his Nhl career. Everyone was asking “what’s Wrong with Crosby, is he Still even a top 5 Player.” Rumors of Crosby and Lemieux fighting over the coach’s style. Everyone counted out Crosby and said Mcdavid was the new number one. Then it happened The Firing of the Coach Mike Johansen. Mike Sullivan came in, taking them from 4 last place to second in the conference. While Conner McDavid suffered an injury that costed him most of his rookie season. Sidney woke up and managed to score 36 goals in the regular season. Pittsburgh went on to win the Stanley cup and Crosby the Mvp of the playoffs. Later that year Crosby became captain of Canada for the third time in the World Cup. Mcdavid scored captain of team North America, alongside new first pick Austin Matthews. Canada proved to win the tournament and again Crosby winning the Mvp of the World cup. Crosby showed that he wasn’t done making his mark in the NHL. Both NHL teams had a good season and scored a the second spot in there conference. The following year the penguins managed to win the Stanley cup for a second time in a row. Every Year McDavid’s been NHL, Sidney and the Pittsburgh Penguins have managed to show up Connor and Edmonton Oilers every year since he entered the NHL.Both players are following in the foot steps of Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky, playing on their teams and breaking there records. When Gretzky was ready to pass the torch to Lemieux he did willingly, Crosby isn’t ready. Crosby Torch is still lit and not going out any time soon.
