what's your group about?

It’s a little town/murder/mystery/secrets roleplay because I love those and September got me ready for spooky season.

Hi everybody! First of all, thank you all for your interest and dedication in this group. It means so much to the three of us that you believed in our little world of superheroes and adventures. As you can probably tell, the three of us have been kind of sparse lately. I know real life has hit me a lot harder than I anticipated, so I haven’t been around as much as I wanted to. It doesn’t seem fair of me to keep stringing everything out when I can’t give it all 100%. 

As hard as it is, we’ve all talked and decided that it is probably best for us to close Hero Complex for the time being. We have absolutely adored every second of it and every single one of you, but unfortunately we’re running dry on inspiration. I don’t believe in doing something halfway, and want this to be as good an experience for everyone involved as possible, and, sadly, this wasn’t the right time for it. We’ve still got some awesome ideas in mind for this group, though. Hopefully in the future we’ll be able to give it a better go and let the stories develop fully.

I’m sorry this group didn’t last longer (although it was still a solid little run), and I’m sorry to those of you who recently applied. It would be unfair of us to let you into a group we cannot properly care for, but we recognize all of the work you put into your applications and sincerely wish we could have had the chance to write with you. To our current members: if you'd like to continue using your characters, go ahead! You wrote them, so they're yours to work with; we just won't be manning the main anymore.

Thank you again for all of the time and love you’ve put into this group, and I wish I could have given you more in return. With any luck, we’ll see you again soon enough. If you want our writing blogs, skypes, etc, just shoot us a message! I know I’ll still be here for a while, and absolutely want to stay in touch with all of you.

I personally want to apologize for some of the slowness and inactivity around here. I’ve had to deal with a lot of unexpected real life things in the past few weeks, and it has led me to be sparse both on the dash and on the main. I know things have been slow lately, but the other admins and I are working to fix it. We have big plans coming and are furiously planning a series of events and plot drops. 

Our first event will be next week, and I don’t want to give too much away yet, but it should be pretty cool. It will begin Friday the 18th and run through Sunday the 20th. We will keep you updated with more details as it approaches.

Because of this, we will be holding acceptances this Wednesday the 16th. The submit will close at 5:30 PM EST, and acceptances will be posted a few hours later.

We’ve also been considering creating a group OOC Skype chat in addition to the OOC blog, and we wanted some member input. Please message us with your username and/or opinion if it’s something you’d like!

Finally, I want to thank you for your patience. We are making a conscious effort to boost activity and morale, but there’s only so much we can do on our end. Real life is busy right now, and it always comes first, but we’d like to encourage everyone to push for a bit more activity. I love this group and all of you so much, and I really hope to see it continue to grow.

WANTED CONNECTIONS/PLOTS:

casual acquaintances: not best friends, but evan doesn’t feel totally awkward around them. they’re okay with comfortable silence and not talking about the deep stuff

roommate: they could get along well or they don’t have to, i think it’d be more fun to expand on this if someone wanted the connection and then decide

training pal: someone that’s there a lot when evan is. maybe for a while they didn’t train together, but eventually they were the only two there at the same times and it became habit - taken by fionn

fear: someone whose powers evan is scared of, because sometimes he’s kinda a wuss and he knows his powers won’t help him from everything.
