You know that you who are in the fandom can hate jason grace, you can hate the ship with nico but : They can do what they want and the truth is they can't deny that jason is important a part of nico, however they interpret it. Nico loves jason and jason was his friend until his last moment and forever. Nico has few people on his side and the most precious he conquered jason is there. The fandom makes a non-existent rivalry in relation to Will for some comments that do not come down to anything, not jason, not a jasico ship, not will and not anyone. That's all i'm saying is that jason and nico are friends, they're love, soulmates and that's more than proven in canon. Will is the person who loves and protects nico, is the couple canon ship, they two are a couple under all circumstances does not diminish or increase the importance of jason to nico or will to nico. I'm tired of people mischaracterizing jason, making fun and hate of his friendship with nico or for ship between the two. Making up lies about Will,Nico and Jason all to make a truce ridiculous. this is all ridiculous, that they distort and do this about one another to invalidate what they want and what they don't accept.

So I end here by saying a canonical part of the books regarding jason and nico:
