– like the flowers need the rain
@hdsungho
faced with the prospect of being on a show, it was easy to sign up for it, a good challenge, if you will, but sebastian hadn’t actually considered how difficult it would actually be to have his cellphone confiscated during most of the time. it made things.. complicated.
in all honesty, he wouldn’t have minded staying as an underclassman. it was way more enjoyable to watch the others battle it out metaphorically, he liked taking a backseat and watching it go down, that wasn’t how it really worked, and though he enjoyed observing, he did like the thought of proving himself and showing off his skills. he did have a little competitive side to him.
it was easy to motivate himself after that. having only an hour and a half time with his phone gave him only so little time to talk to his friends, especially the dark haired boy who seemed to be running through his mind a lot recently, it was a tad bit embarrassing how much space he seemed to occupy in his life, but sebastian was rather fond of sungho, and liked making plans with him and meeting him whenever they could, even if the distance right now felt horrendously wide, like they were miles apart, he supposed physical time away made the heart grow quite fonder despite how much it felt like he was missing a limb. he felt home sick and he wasn't even missing a place, but a person instead.
it felt a bit overdramatic to take it that far, but making friends wasn’t something the blond singer was good at doing. somewhat like a lone wolf back in england, he had expected to stay the same when moving to south korea, but of course things change, and he was hoping to develop and become the best version of himself, especially if he had wanted to reach his dreams, he would have to take care of himself first. he had met a lot of people during his time as a trainee, and his friendship with sungho just made sense. it was easy, and almost felt like it was meant to be. it was cheesy, and he would be rather caught dead than to find himself uttering those words to the taller male, and it wasn’t because he felt uncomfortable being vulnerable around him, there was just certain things he wasn’t ready to share in fear of bearing his heart too early and openly. one day though—
he hadn’t expected to actually be chosen to move up, clearly he must have been doing something right, though he was confident in his skills, he was also aware of how much he lacked in certain areas. highly focused on music, put him in a room in front of cameras, sebastian had no idea how to act, and the thought of actually entertaining people and putting on a show to make them smile and laugh made him cringe. it was something he had been avoiding ever since he joined, and against all odds, he put himself in such a situation, and was allowing people to view him through a screen. it was horribly ironic.
gathering his things quickly after many congratulations, maybe too many because he was starting to feel a bit uncomfortable with so many people around him, sebastian made his way to hyde academy, heart beating rapidly in his chest with so many unnamed emotions– oh, was he feeling anxious and maybe apprehensive? that will explain why he has been so stuck in his head recently– he stepped inside the gates and made his way to his new home for the next few weeks, stopping in his tracks when he noticed people were waiting to greet him, the contestants that made it through the current round, the elite class, and he blinks once, and then twice, offering a quiet greeting back, a soft thanks, before letting his eyes meet one of the tallest contestants there, and he finally feels his shoulders relax and his lips curl upwards into a soft, yet rather shy smile, making his way to him, eyes bright and shoulders brushing, “sungho.”
