lambent;
Birthdays were undoubtedly her favorite celebrations in the entire year length, aside for her own which could be easily forgotten in the midst of an erratic schedule, Ara made it her duty to brightened up the very especial day of those close to her heart either they agreed or not, a birthday cake and a surprising gathering was usually her way to congratulate her friend even if just in between the two of them.
Which partly explained the reason behind the why the petite girl had allowed herself to enter Taekwoon’s apartment without his presence in the enclosure, exactly ten minutes before his return from another work shift in the pet shop, carrying nothing but a red velvet cake on top of a relatively large present box wrapped in bright scarlet paper with a traditional navy blue around its edges.
A sigh escaped through her parted reddish lips as the brunette neatly rearranged the table for that the cake could rest on the middle, hiding the present on one of the chairs just before her delicate hands dipped the candles on the soft chocolate surface, Ara would be lying if she claimed it didn’t took all of her self control to not scoop some of the chocolate on her fingers just to taste the cake she already knew it would be delicious.
She had bought it not even twenty minutes ago instead of attempting to bake one of her own this year, anyways.
The noisy sound of the key being inserted on the door lock made the younger petrified in less than a second, pale skin becoming icy cold at his sudden presence and insistence in entering his own apartment as she shook her head in both disbelief and disappointment. “Jung Taekwoon! Don’t you dare to open up this door!” Ara groaned, narrowing her hazel orbs dangerously at the door even though the older couldn’t physically be the victim of her glare.
“Don’t you dare spoiling your own-… Oh--” Velvet voice was cut short by a high pitched yelp of pain, the younger hadn’t realized that lecturing the older while attempting to light up the candles at the same time was a disaster waiting to come true and there is no necessity in affirm she was cruelty reminded as soon as one of her slender fingers brushed against the lit flame.
Well, that was one enlightened way to prepare a surprise.
