while Damon has many PHYSICAL ABILITIES he has a preference for attacking people mentally. He is like the little demon on your shoulder. He invades minds , he makes people do stuff (while they think it’s their own idea)

important: no compulsion like in the show, it’s purely invasion of the mind. he does not need to be physically close to the person or have eye contact. he will tell you the things you want to hear and he will make you feel right. Though to me as beautiful Damon is he has something so ROTTEN. his beauty is unsettling and yet people still fall into his tricks and games. With physical abilities (for example creating lightning) he mostly uses them in response. He never really goes into active combat with his powers, though when he does he has no limits and he will make sure to do the most harm possible and he will take his time. He’s not one to end it quickly. He is very sadistic either way but he takes more pleasure in attacking the mind because the control of the mind secures also the control of the body.

p.s no he does not use mind control to sleep with people. that’s purely show bullshit. If he seeks s*x he uses his charm and is being his typical seductive self.
