what do you need?
hope.
you have been in such a dark place that they have no answer for it. you joke it's the winter of your soul, but it has been winter for a long time here. you have been online, clicking through all these little pieces of the world - "it's okay to hurt!" they say. that feels sort of tragic. it feels sort of impersonal. there is good news. the snow is melting. yesterday is over. yesterday and the month before and the month before. you are new today. or you will be new tomorrow. or you will be new, soon. i am giving you permission to start whenever you need to. there is a long road, and it is tiring. but we are walking it together, hand in hand. we are both cold and we are both weary. it is okay to be a little bit broken by it; long walks like this give blisters. but we are walking, and that is something. and what comes next is being home. what comes next is that we will rest. and then we will get up. and we will walk more. and one day, when it is right. we will get where we are going. we will be happy. and we will be whole.
