I just wrote 70% of a Left Behind story that features Hannah Abbot struggling to find her place in the world after returning to post-war UK and seeing all her school friends who kicked death eater ass in the war while she had fled the country with her father.

Then I had a sickening thought, reread the Battle of Hogwarts chapters, and realized she is in fact mentioned to have been there, meaning this story makes absolutely no sense.

...I HAVE BEEN LIVING A LIE.

(Head-desks several times) ...Okay, so...for a LONG time, I have been writing and working under the belief that Malleus Draconia is Maleficent’s grandson. This comes from a piece from one of his Chats, which...DEPENDING ON TRANSLATION, seemed to indicated Maleficent was his grandmother. Well, we can now rule one of those translations as false, because I officially have proof that this is almost certainly NOT the case. He may or may not be related to Maleficent’s bloodline, mind you - that’s up to debate, it’s a little tough to tell - but he is NOT her grandson. In his birthday event, the Prefect asks Malleus if his family sent him any message. His response... Malleus: “Yes. I received a message from my grandmother: she’s the only relative I have. She is the current queen of the Valley of Thorns. When I am away at school, she handles all the official business herself...she’s been very busy lately. So busy that she never has the time to write me a letter...but she always sends me a card with a message every year. (smiles) I appreciate her thoughtfulness very much. She not only wrote a message on the card this year, she even sent some rose seeds with it! I used to plant roses annually in the Valley of Thorns; it is as beautiful as the Rose Garden now.” So...yeah. Either Maleficent is still alive in this universe - which seems HIGHLY unlikely, since everyone, including Malleus, talks about her as if she were deceased - or his grandmother is someone else. And considering it’s hard for me to imagine Maleficent sending thoughtful birthday wishes to her grandson, or allowing beautiful flowers in her dominion (”She always ruins your nicest flowers.”), I’d say the latter is more likely. ON THE BRIGHT SIDE: Malleus does go into a long segment talking about how much he loves ice cream, and reveals that his least favorite food is “Whole Cakes,” because they give him heartburn, which leads to this line... Prefect: You’re not supposed to eat ALL of the cake BY YOURSELF! Malleus: I know that! I DIDN’T HAVE ANYONE ELSE TO EAT IT WITH! >:( ...Just...Maleficent’s bloodline or not, dark prince or not...give this guy a hug...and maybe a few belly rubs...ahem.

Merlin Update #4

Actually I had the headcanon that Gaius goes down into the cave to meet up with the great dragon and they have an intense chess match while chatting about the old times. But now they've met in canon and low-key hate each other and I'm not sure how to feel about that.

So here I was dreaming of Charlie Hunnam as the perfect Rhaegar Targaryen in Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire. Maybe even being casted for a future flashback? You know, a role  that actually has meaning and for a deep character. But nope, the guy is gonna play Christian Grey in 50 Shades of Grey. Life is laughing at me.
