Oh gee Halloween was two weeks ago??? oh well what can ya do
Drew @sophieswamp’s Akdia!!
It was quite a challenge considering this is the first time I’ve drawn a uni, plus Akdia doesn’t have a head and that’s usually my strongest point. Nevertheless, Akdia is a great OC and a pleasure to draw!
The Other Side || Solo
Nate had been through hell and back and back again. He'd watched the love of his life die, he'd been haunted by her ghost and a facsimile of it, he'd disappeared from his friends and family, he'd gathered new one and watched as they were all tortured until he died. And then he came back. It seemed Nate was never destined to get a break. And things weren't about to change any time soon.
The blood of the Dullahan still reeked on his skin though he knew it was all washed away. The stench was fictional, but so real to the man who knew he carried yet another death sentence. Only this time, there were people who knew and people who said they would fight it. For him. And for everyone else. So rather than hide away, though he knew it would be safest, Nate wanted to take Penelope's advice and enjoy the last few days he had. It was Halloween after all. Didn't people love this holiday?
He would go out, spend time with friends, laugh and try to forget the legendary spirit that hunted for his head and called to his soul. The only reassuring thing about all of this was that he did still have one. He wasn't a monster, and he would never be one.
But that time would never come.
He and Ana had almost made it. The bright, flashing sign was beaming like a beacon, signaling his friends’ proximity, just out of reach. The frantic hooves pounded against the ground and in less than a second, the horseman was upon them. Ana was strong, but there was no way she could gold off Death itself.
He had been so close to safety, so close to the people he loved, to seeing them one more time. To saying goodbye. To following Fiona's advice and telling Izel how much he cared about her, how much he cared about all of them.
It was funny, how quickly your life flashes before your eyes. Dying was familiar, but foreign. The same sense of dread, the same knowledge that this was truly it, but without the time. He didn't have the slow death he'd had when Mason had ripped a chunk out of his side, or the zombie infection to bring him back. Nate didn't have a third chance.
It was over in an instant, blackness and icy cold wrapping around him before he knew that his head was no longer attached to his body. He remembered saying he was sorry, that Izel’s face flashed before his eyes.
The only reassurance he had now was that he would finally get to see Lana. After all these years, after all the torment, they would finally be together again.
