today i learned that humans can mold... Usually flesh decomposes naturally by rotting, so why the heck would it start to mold?

In order for mold to grow you'd first need to halt the decomposition process, usually via embalming. If then placed in a moist environment...

I guess this is why mold only appears on cooked meats, whereas spoiled raw meat just turns brown.

Bro why did I have tears in my eyes the entire time drawing this 😭 maybe a small part of me thought Kuutamo would get to Mesi in time to help... but they don't call it a tragedy for nothing!!

I'm not sure if we're meant to interpret Kuutamo as having (a) found Mesi's decomposing body or (b) never having found her body and living with uncertainty forever. Both options are so depressing... either way, this piece is meant to be more abstract, like a reoccurring nightmare Kuutamo would have regardless of if they've seen Mesi's skeleton irl, or only in their mind...

And the associated guilt... trying to save the doomed... trying to comfort the cold and dead... could she have done more... does she blame herself... I'm not crying, you're crying...
