how do you feel about tyrus? asking from a good place
Absolutely! It’s all love!
I used to be rather indifferent about them. I think it’s fairly obvious I favor Jyrus at this point, and a big part of my undying love for Jyrus comes from personal reasons. Part of me can’t fully latch onto Tyrus because of this attachment I have with the former.
But detaching myself from Jyrus for a minute, I’m honestly good with them! I used to think Cyrus deserved someone better than a boy who bullied his best friend and made her feel miserable, and I also thought Cyrus’ tendency of trying to find good in everybody (i.e. mostly TJ) was leading him away from what I thought were his core values. TJ’s “apology” came in the season 2 finale and I was still unfulfilled because I felt they had let Buffy’s character down. But TJ really turned over a new leaf in season 3 and I especially appreciate how he helped Buffy with what seemed to be a stressful milestone in her middle school life.
Despite only having acquired newfound appreciation for TJ’s character, I do admit he and Cyrus have had cute chemistry from the get go (moreso brotherly at first). I think it’s reasonable to say Tyrus is a very likely outcome for Cyrus’ romance story and I’d be okay with them being endgame if that’s what the writing team has in mind.
You probably won’t see me make much content about them but I’ll be sure to support them if they do happen!
