7 - R-30471

What makes someone human?

Scratch that.

What makes someone… a person. A living, thriving person? Not necessarily breathing, but rather using the time they have and making the most of it?

R-30471 doesn't know if they deserve to call themselves human. Hells, they don't even want to use the name so-graciously given to them by the one human they really cared about. Because why use something from someone you failed to even save?

Caltya says it isn't their fault. It was bound to happen one day. So why them? Why choose to save the one being, the one entity, on that floating oasis of contradictions that didn't even know if they were truly a person?

Caltya says that it was simply fate. R-30471 wished it were otherwise.

Because learning how to live is harder when you wish you were anything other. They wished they could go back to the way things were, to being a simple, mindless drone. They wouldn't have been saved, they wouldn't have met the variety of people that between-worlds place Caltya brought them to, they wouldn't have had to meet her-

Maybe it's guilt that makes someone human. It would explain the blood R-30471 sheds whenever they think about her.

6 - Caltya

Caltya loved the sea. She loved the way the waves crashed against the rocks and beach by her home, loved the smell of salt of salt in her hair, loved the sound of gulls in the air and the water just at her fingertips.

She knew she would spend her life out on the sea. It was a fact, like gravity itself. While Caltya wasn't literally raised on the sea - Gods knows her land-dwelling mom would never let her before she was 'old enough' - she might as well been, what with her sea-born ma sneaking her out onto her ship's deck whenever possible or bringing her treasures and tales from her adventures out on the ocean blue.

When she got her first captain's hat and was finally allowed to join her ma on the sea for a proper trip, Caltya couldn't be happier.

The seas weren't 100% what Caltya expected to be, but was anything? Besides, the imperfections of it only made things better. The storms tested her will, the monsters of the deep tested her bravery, and the very crew that accompanied her certainly tested her patience. As the tides changed with the moon, so did she as she grew into a beloved yet feared captain of an ocean courier, traversing the seas and bringing goodwill wherever she went.

Caltya would never lose her love for the sea. Even if the very thing she loved would threaten to swallow her whole.

Ok i always thought it was weird when i narrated what was happening while in the headspace, i didnt think anyone else did that!!! :o

Haha, I’m glad you can relate to that! I’m a silly narrating alter I guess lol. xD It calms me down when I talk thoughts and actions aloud (internally or not). 

I need to raise another $2960 to get a service dog! Could you help me out here?
