The slam of the door echoes throughout the bunker. While the cold is more bearable now that they are out of the elements, Deirdre could swear that she had not seen anyone actually shut it. It is an unsettling thought but it is a thought that is not worth dwelling on until they can gather some more clues from their surroundings.

Deirdre glances toward her scowling son. Her heart aches to comfort him but she knows it is a futile task. Instead she pulls aside the two young girls in the group with a warm and welcoming smile.

"Lana, Maria! I thought I might look around a little. If we are to be here for awhile, it might be nice to see if we can find anything interesting. Would the two of you like to join me?"

❰❰ HAND KISS ❱❱ "I love your hands," she whispers into Larcei's palm, soft lips brushing against calloused skin - each one a testament of just how hard Larcei is always working.

"Hey hey, they're not that-" words cut off as her hand met Lana's lips. If the girl was trying to fluster her, she'd succeeded. For a while, she'd been questioning the depth of her feelings for Lana... and maybe she felt the same.

"I love yours too." Their eyes met as Larcei took her friend's hand, to give hers an equally gentle kiss. Lana's hands were far softer than her own, sweet as the healing she provided... in other words, perfect.

   Joining the White Heron Cup alongside his cousin, Febail's body and face go stiff the moment the duo make their way in front of all to see. Though he has been practicing to a degree, the results of his efforts make him think he was likely no dancer before or if he was, he certainly had no talent for it.

But one look at Lana and the reminder that she is invested in this, and Febail tells himself to care to put in the effort to make as good a memory as possible for her. Even if winning feels far-fetched in his mind, a blissful memory can be made from more than just a victory.

He eases up, and for the duration of their routine, he is all the more creative in putting on flourishes to help make the dance memorable for the both of them. He follows his heart, clumsy as his footing is, and though the steps may be uncoordinated on his part and more akin to that of two children learning how to dance together for the first time, there is the bounciness and vitality associated with play.

It's not very him, he decides, but it conveys the feeling of fun all the same through the unprofessionalism of their moves. When they have finished, he doesn't bother looking too much at the audience or the judges even, muttering under his breath to Lana,  “ I probably should've let you lead. ”

It is an apology without saying as such, but despite his lack of one, he does hope he has not ruined his cousin's night with his ineptitude.   // @healresolve & @sheerelixir @seirsvelgr​

Who is their foil (character contrast)?

               By leaps and bounds, Marth’s character foil has to be Hardin! They both possess more iconic titles for themselves, between Hero-King and Coyote, but their secondary epithets of ‘Prince of Light’ and ‘Dark Emperor’ spell out the contrast between them pretty darn clearly. In addition; Hardin wielding the Darksphere and Marth being given the Lightsphere to beat him. 

               Their key contrast boils down to how differently their lives panned out in comparison to one another. The Fire Emblem and Parthia being bestowed on Marth marked the start to his glory, but this act was reversely a source of envy and negativity for Hardin that would later ruin him. In that stride, there’s also the parallels between their forefathers; with Hardin’s ancestor Duke Cartas wielding the Fire Emblem and Marth’s ancestor, Anri, wielding the Falchion. The fact that Marth wields the shield in place of Hardin means that their ancestral roles are reversed.

              Even their respective love lives showcase their relationship as foils. Marth found happiness by successfully marrying the woman who adored him. Hardin, on the other hand, found himself in an utterly loveless and unreciprocated marriage. Both of these outcomes were indirectly due to Nyna. 

              Hardin is of course his main foil, but some other honorary mentions are Michalis and Kris. Michalis is coined as the second coming of Iote, whereas Marth is called the second coming of Anri. The contrasting identities of their kingdoms also come to mind with Macedon being famous for its wyvern riders, or dragon tamers, and Altea’s major claim to fame being its dragon-slaying blade. As a product of Gharnef’s machinations, they also both lost their fathers; Michalis being manipulated into killing the Macedonian king for his ambitions, and Marth’s father being murdered by the underhanded tactics of Grust and Gra.

              Even with less evidence, Kris as Marth’s foil is more obvious than Hardin or Michalis. As Marth’s shadow, he’s referenced alongside him in the very title of FE12: Heroes of Light and Shadow. They have contrasting legacies as well, with Marth taking to the history books as Archanea’s messiah and Kris being the anonymous hero remembered only by those who knew him.

those who wait

Though hailing from the heartland of his own land’s native church, he had never been the faithful type. Erk would never tell those around him his concerns over it - he would not bother himself with many people in his daily life if he didn’t care for it. It was just his own personal feelings.

And yet, magic was magic. His curiosity knew few bounds and he was always willing to try and to learn. However... he always tended to do his best in smaller circles so a large of group of people practicing at the same time was a bit overwhelming in a setting that wasn’t a battle. He kept his head down and ducked behind someone loudly raving about their faith and waving their hands around.

Thankfully, it seemed there were some like-minded folks who had settled on the other side of the room, which was much quieter. He glanced down at the book atop his small pile, brought from home and decorated with what was supposed to be a depiction of St. Elimine (though he thought that it really just looked vaguely like a member of the royal family). 

He shuffled over to the other side of the room, carefully placing his books on the edge of a table. The girl sitting on the other side looked vaguely familiar but he couldn’t really place a name, but she seemed harmless enough. “...Would you mind if I joined you? It’s a bit... busy over there.”

i can’t Not talk about my Best Boy, one Mr. Frey LeSilve!

I’ve had him for like... over 20 years now. old man.

i’m pretty sure i yanked his first name from like... dragon warrior II? I have really vague memories of borrowing it for ye olde game boy colour from a friend some time in elementary school. kinda hazy. mighta just gone ‘i like this name’ and taken it.

he only got his last name like 10 years ago lmao, i was on a road trip with my hockey team out to like Detroit or something on our way to a tournament and sleepy ol me remembered seeing a building call ‘lesilve estates’ and going ‘...huh :thinking emoji:’

his main shtick is he’s cursed early on into his story, and where magic was his life, the curse now prohibited its use: instead of drawing from the world, he could only draw from his own life force. (Didn’t really stop him, as you can see.)

Unsurprisingly, he’s the protag of the book I’ve been working on these past couple NaNoWriMos. I’m still not 100% sure whether he fully gets his magic back in the end, tbh. It’s not really what his internal arc is about, anyway. 

Anyway. He’s a tired dude, yfeel me.

(also @boundlesshart) 🌴 = a favorite canon character in my fandom Hmmm… For SoV, it’s a tie between Lukas and Python in Alm’s route, and a tie between Saber and Sonya in Celica’s. The choice is complicated by the fact that I like them all for very different reasons xD As for Tellius... I chose Ike and Sothe for a reason. I greatly enjoy Tormod’s hijinks, may be in love with Elincia’s and Titania’s inner strength, as well as the one of the Brothers, but those two have a special spot in my heart.

(Bonus: my absolute fave in Awakening is Stahl).
