 The Music Listener

I hate this drawing. I believe I will never finish it.

Too much details, I’m not satisfied by the colors, especially on Leonie (hair are too bright and skin too dark). Anyway, this is the first time I draw her ...

So,

As I said, this is my other OC of my upcoming story / webcomic Heartstring : Leonie. She’s Johan’s best friend (and love interest). She’s different from all the others girls; while girls of her age loves modern things as fashion or technologies (such as phones), Leonie would prefer vintage things ! Indeed, vintage is a real passion for her, especially Rockabilly. She loves wearing rockabilly / vintage clothes and accessories, and collect many things related to her passion.

But it isn’t the only thing : while all young people use their phone to listen their music, Leonie will privilege old supports to listen to music. There, she’s using a Walkman and audiotapes, one of her most beloved thing she owns. She also use a turntable with vinyl records, thing she shares with Johan. (Both often bring vinyls to listen them together while they talk about the world which surround them).

And if you ask her why does she use such supports instead of modern ones, she’ll answer you that they have a soul, contrary to the moderns supports. And that they deserves to “live”.

She’s also a huge lover of “old music”, especially of Elvis Presley who was her main inspiration and role model (also a reason why she wants to become a singer.), but also David Bowie (Johan and Nancy’s favorite singer as well), Indochine (Johan’s one of his favorite bands too), Stevie Nicks, Janice Joplin, George Michaels / Wham!, Kim Wilde, Patti Smith and Joan Jett / The Runaways. But she enjoys listening others musical genre expect modern music as Techno for example.

In the band, she’s the singer. Usually a quiet and soft-spoken young woman, she, although, has a powerful and lyrical voice which attract all the attention of everyone, which sounds like that.

Besides music, Leonie’s others interests are reading, writing, drawing and stuffed animals (the two ones are M. Brun [bear] offered by her parents when she was a toddler, and M. Bibou [owl] offered by Johan when they were kids).

Her parents don’t really understand their daughter’s interests. To them, music is only a hobby and Leonie should find a “real job” instead of wasting her time singing to just earn peanuts. Leonie is hurt by her parents’ speech and despite loving them a lot, she has many struggles with them.

Leonie is an only child, to her big regret. But she always considered Johan and his little Lola as siblings (despite having feelings towards her best friend). She’s also close to her younger cousin, Nancy (another member of the band), and considers her as a little sister.

Wow ! Too much to read. Hope you like my pretty girl ! ;)

maybe it was the amount of bleaching haru's hair had gone through that had fried his brain or maybe despite how genetic compositions worked he's really just always been secretly a natural blonde. "look who's talking! you're whiter than me."

Tình cảm của hai người là thứ mà bản thân đã đánh đổi cả thanh xuân để theo đuổi, bởi đó là thứ tình yêu bình yên nhẹ nhàng mà có lẽ cả đời này vẫn luôn tìm kiếm...

Có lẽ thứ bản thân vẽ lên chỉ là ảo tưởng không có thật, chỉ là những thứ phù phiếm tự nghĩ, tự đau, tự tương tư, tự hạnh phúc....

Nhưng bởi vì tin, bởi vì yêu, nên sẽ vẫn luôn trân trọng....

Chỉ là khi nhìn thấy hai người, trái tim cũng sẽ bất giác muốn được yêu thương...

Muốn có người bên cạnh để dựa vào, để chở che, để được yếu đuối...

Có những ngày bản thân bất giác rất cô đơn, cô đơn đến sợ hãi...
