My birthday is next month. This was a trial run before I make a black one to match my birthday outfit. I kinda like it.

Continued Hat-ventures of Jen (Part 3)

Velveteen Heart

After fluffing the heart I covered the pieces in the red velvet following the technique shown in the tutorial. It now looks like this:

For lack of a fancy fabric to line the hat with, I chose to go with a simple red cotton (It looks weird in the photo but the colours do go well together irl)

After hours upon hours of hand sewing the hat interior looks like this:

Not super pretty but it’ll do.

Pattern description from Knitting Workshop: “The HEART HAT is knitted in garter-stitch and bordered by I-CORD. It also has ties made with I-CORD.”

Since February is often considered the time for “hearts,” now is as good a time as any to post this adorable pattern for a child. 

Sometimes I have just taken the “heart-part” and made two of them, then put them together for a charming heart-shaped sachet.
