Fun Facts:

A 23-year-old trans girl born and raised in a small town in Texas.

Has a crush on her friend who is also a trans girl and is secretly a real actual catgirl with ears and a tail. Gwen has come so close to learning this secret but these two are so bad at being open with each other and expressing their feelings properly that she still doesn't know. This other girl is played by another player. Will-They-Won't-They, Only-One-Bed yuri in the middle of a murder investigation. This is surprisingly normal for Eureka.

Eureka is a game about mundane, ordinary people trying to solve a mystery. Traits are one of the most unique parts of each character- special abilities that heavily define their personalities and the way they investigate. Gwen's traits are "Cheerleader", "I'm Okay, You're Okay", and "The Truth Comes Out". "Cheerleader" makes her better at cooperating with other investigators; a bonus to help checks and the ability to spend her Eureka! Points on others instead of herself. She isn't trying to take the spotlight; she's too shy for that, she'd rather help others instead, it's an easy way to get others to like you, too. "I'm Okay, You're Okay" let's Gwen comfort herself as well as others; she's talking to herself a lot when she's stressed, but without this trait, she'd be a whole lot more stressed. This is partly because I gave her the optional fear of 'Upsetting Others', so she has a chance to lose Composure every time she thinks she's upset someone. This is a mechanical representation of her social anxiety; she has to convince herself it's okay every time she thinks she's annoyed someone or committed any sort of social faux pas. "The Truth Comes Out" is a really fun one; she gets a bonus to social skill rolls, but she can really lose a lot of Composure every time she tells a lie; that +1 bonus is a huge help on 2d6 that has gotten her a lot info she would have otherwise missed, but not being able to lie very well has also landed her in a lot of trouble. This one is also very clearly a representation of her social anxiety. In no other game is 'some girl who has severe social anxiety' a really powerful character, but Gwen has opened doors (literally and metaphorically) in the investigation that the other two investigators couldn't because of her specific skill set.
