A tingkat reminds me of when my grandma and mum sends homecooked food over when I lived alone. Care is always rendered to me, but I hardly hear them request help from me. With our Asian culture and upbringing, they are reluctant to "bother" me because they do not want to cause any inconveniences, and this is later reflected in me as well. I rarely bother my teenager as I do not want her to find me a hassle. Growing old quietly alone at home becomes a norm. The pillars that build us shouldn't be forgotten. This is where Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) comes in. They aim to build a community that transforms lives through the promise of care and foster connections and collaborations throughout their community, bringing together the health and care sector and Singaporeans, to ensure that the elderly have a safe place they can turn to when they are in need. I visited the AIC portal and am very impressed with the information that I can educate myself on - from the perspective of active seniors to caregivers and handling mental health conditions. I like how AIC also administers a range of eldercare-related financial assistance schemes to support families in managing caregiving costs. With this, providing professional caregiving to your loved ones would not become a problem you have to vex over.
