was TARA supposed to be working? of course, but it was a slow day in the coffee shop. plus, her boss wasn’t looking. thus: she was ‘ allowed ‘ to annoy patrons. “ hey, ” she smiled as she plopped into the seat next to the obvious student. he looked extremely familiar, but he could’ve just been a regular. more importantly, he was the only one who looked like he could be any fun. “ whatcha doing? anything fun? ”

It used to be words. Brooke would fall for any pretty words thrown her way, had a tendency to fall for words even after shitty actions, especially when she was with Joey. After Joey, after Redwood, after jail, Brooke has learned that actions speak louder than words. She still likes words, still swoons and wants to believe, but now she needs the action to back up it before risking herself in any way again.

JULIA had a bad habit of talking to herself aloud as she worked in her poetry journal. her voice almost moved with a melody, as if that’s how the words naturally came out. ( in truth, she was just remembering the tune from long ago. )

“ and i stand here helpless, my arms extended... knowing full well, darling, your war’s not ended... ”

she looked up, trying to remember think of what should come next. only then did she noticed someone looking her way. “ oh... uh... sorry? bad habit. ”

☛ : what is their typical response to being given orders?

Depends on who’s giving the orders. Generally, Audrey doesn’t like to be ordered around. She is the one who does the ordering, not the other way around. But if it’s from a noted superior, if she’s part of a team completing a task or putting an event together, especially in a professional setting, than she’ll know her place and do her orders as told. 

✗ : explain how they portray feelings of hostility or dislike.

When Audrey feels slighted, she’s not known to hold her tongue. She usually turns to faux politeness. Sickly sweet words delivered with too-wide smiles that don’t reach her eyes. But when she’s truly fed up, she drops all pretenses, and doesn’t mince her words.
