Yay, tag time! I was tagged by the fab @awkwardcritter , and yes I’m tagging u back so u can see haha :) Rules: Tag 9 people you want to know better
How old are you? 22, as of about 2 weeks ago! To be honest, doesn’t really feel that different from 21, except 21 of course involved a somewhat bigger birthday celebration lol :)
Current job/Dream job: Currently, I’m not working, as I’m focusing on my dual bachelors in arts and business I am about eight months from completing. My dream job? Publishing - what I would love to be able to do is work at a big publishing house, and just be a part of the process of editing and putting new books out into the world! I’ve always wanted to work with books in some fashion and this has always felt like the best possible option.
What are you talented at? I’m a pretty good writer, though procrastination means the main pieces I ever get done are usually for assessment. And I’m really good at quickly picking up new craft-related skills (like crochet stitches) for some reason, and baking!
What is a big goal you are working towards? G R A D U A T I O N. There it is, looming juuuuust out of reach, June 2017 :O
What’s your aesthetic? Hmmmm...That warm and comfy kind of cluttered space; rich brown wooden furniture pieces, pretty teapots and strange brick-a-brack type oddities.
Do you collect anything? Notebooks too! Ugh, they’re always so pretty, whether it’s the cover or the pages or maybe it’s like one of those ones with the clever tie keeping it shut. Stationery stories are the worst (BEST). Also: loose leaf tea! I love it, most of my friends/family usually get it for me if they can’t think of any other gift ideas haha.
What is a topic you’re always up to talk about? Books and writing processes. Critical Role, obviously! Cute animals. Baking!
What’s a pet peeve of yours? Oooh, my housemates when they run around the house like fucking elephants, and shout conversation to one another at 1 in the fucking morning. (This may have happened....5 hours ago.) They’re not so bad usually though! Also, anyone who starts off with the “people are too easily offended these days” or “political correctness is just censorship/is ruining society” instantly makes me feel like the human equivalent of the fight me emoji.
Good advice to give? Tbh I often feel like such a mess that giving advice feels awkward? But in a learn-from-my-mistakes kind of way: take care to exercise your emotions! Whether it be through talking to people online - I’m always happy to listen and many others are too! - or by writing it down, or talking to trusted friends/family IRL. Bottling it up and not speaking about it or confronting it apart from within your own mind is a great way to just kind of wreck yourself emotionally or explode at the least convenient time. Trust me, I have done both of those, it is noooooot pretty.
Recommend three songs:
Gun In My Hand, by Dorothy - The most Percy-mid-Whitestone-arc song I have ever found, tbh!
If I Didn’t Know Better, by The Civil Wars - honestly, I love everything by these guys, and will be eternally sad that they stopped making new stuff - but this song especially, if you’re in the mood to feel super melancholy.
Slip, by Eliot Moss - slow and gentle and kind of eatheral. Also, all of these are kind of sad, whoops!
Time to tag some other people! Obviously, if you’re not comfortable doing it or have done it already feel free to ignore! Also if you do do it, pls tag me back so I can see haha <3 I tag: @d3moira, @halfarsedhermit, @heartofhandprints, @dancer4813, @teammompike, @quietlesskatie, @x-i-l-verify, @memorysdaughter and @a-really-bad-decision <3 <3 <3
