DS2 Hypothesis
Sam is older because he lost his DOOMS and/or his repatriate condition or because of his job as a porter.
Sam will use the name Sam Unger or something similar while hiding from the UCA.
I stand firm that Kojima wrote Sam and Deadman as the canonical DS1 couple with multiple parallels to Cliff/Lisa, Die-Hardman/Cliff, Die-Hardman/Bridget, Sam/Lucy and Fragile/Higgs.
Multiple love triangles past and present but with a twist. It will have multiple parallels between the couples as in DS1. Sam will be in at least 2 love triangles.
The themes of patriarchy and femininity, gender and sexuality, the figure of the mother, children, these losses, the institution of the family and marriage in secondary and main characters, as well as their escape from these structures and roles, will be explored in depth. Sam escapes more than anyone else by distancing himself from the UCA and the American/patriarchal ideology and its colonial identities (as gender, whether masculine or feminine, male or female and their respective roles).
Sam was for an unspecified number of years on Amelie's Beach and then on his own Beach, an amount of time long enough for Deadman not to want to tell him and for Heartman to be devastated. This may have increased his DOOMS if he still has them.
There are people who see Sam and other DOOMS users as another race or as divine or blessed beings and create little cults around them.
Sam will have constant dreams of Lou and Deadman, perhaps even communing with the other members of the Deathless Dream Team as well (Mama, Lockne, Fragile and Heartman).
At the end of the first game, when Sam is trapped on his Beach and they go to rescue him, we see 5 figures floating in the air above the sea. From that moment and considering the first DS1 trailer I have assumed they are not only the 5 mass extinctions but Deadman, Fragile, Heartman, Mama and Lockne.
The opposite of the EE are the people who love Sam and connect him to humanity and the World of the Living. It makes sense because of the chirality and the idea of ‘mirror image’ as well as constant parallels, twins and identical opposites throughout DS1.
Fragile will perhaps die. Recall that because of what Higgs did to her, she only has a few years to live and at the end of DS1, Sam tells her that everything he touches dies so he removes his hand from hers after he touches her.
We will have flashbacks of Fragile's association with Higgs.
We will see her mother and father.
We will see how the DOOMS affect other carriers besides Sam.
We'll have flashbacks to the BRIDGES I expedition.
Deadman awakens his DOOMS, which shows he has Ka (which I've thought since we were introduced to the character).
We'll see him in his Beach.
He had to flee as he is politically persecuted by the state. For much of the game we will only know about him through emails, audios, videos and flashbacks, as well as what other characters tell us.
Sam will have to go and bring him back.
If Lockne dies, Mama takes over her Ha.
Mama and Lockne are working on a project that is taking people/companies/imperialism to the Moon.
Sam will go to the Moon and the World of the Dead and be the Homo Ludens with the suit.
We are going to have flashbacks of Heartman and his family and the experiments to stop his heart.
Heartman is the most powerful DOOMS user not counting Higgs and whatever method he is using to augment his own.
He is so because with each trip to the Beach he has gained a greater mastery of his power and also lessened the negative effects of these.
It is because of his DOOMS level that he can pilot the Magellan Man.
The ruins we see in one of the released videos, the structure where Sam has to go and where some terrorists are settled, is Heartman's ruined laboratory.
Heartman in DS1 is presented with the pansexual flag and, to my mind, there are tones of Heartman being interested in Sam as well the parallels between them, giving up the search for his family through character development and finally giving up his search of them in order to search for Sam, and ending up dating a woman who he decides to shorten her name to Sam. In DS2 there will be subtext or text with Sam or other characters.
Heartman knows Dollman because Dollman tried to help him contact his family in the first months after his death, before Heartman started inducing cardiac arrest or before he joins BRIDGES.
Perhaps Dollman was part of BRIDGES I before he lost his body.
Dollman will be a metaphor for long distance relationships and another way of dealing with grief/past that we haven't seen in past characters.
There are going to be a lot of parallels about puppets and their strings. Dollman will be the least puppet-like character of all.
Someone or something pulls the strings of Tomorrow, metaphorical and literally, from the World of the Death.
Higgs' Ka is trapped on the Beach and is thus a sort of puppet himself.
Higgs somehow has Amelie under his control with the help of APAC.
Amelie is the Lady in Red.
Higgs is not speaking in her name, he works for the head of APAC.
APAC creates a cult and sets Higgs as priest and prophet.
The cultists present more explicitly in this second game the American civil religion that sees America as a goddess and themselves as her representatives on earth carrying out her divine will to conquer the world.
Bridget drove Lucy to her death. It will be revealed to us what she wanted to get out of this death and the destruction of an entire city.
Tomorrow is Lou.
But which Lou is Tomorrow? Lou 1 or Lou 2?
Lou 1 survived and was taken by Bridget, created a BB and eventually, every so often, was marked as ready for incineration, but was not realised. Finally back to Sam?
We don't know if the fetus dies with Lucy as the baby was a DOOMS carrier as was Sam. She could be a repatriate.
If she is a repatriate and is Lou 2, that explains why Lou doesn't die in the void out or when Sam dies at other points in the game.
Lou 2 after being stolen from Sam grows up in the World of the Dead or in the Union and is raised by Amelie or Higgs.
They use the EE as a power source and it will be very body horror with technological elements, like Tetsuo.
Higgs will create illusions against Sam in order to manipulate him.
APAC represents the technological capitalists and Higgs represents the religious capitalists. Both part of the same power.
The Magellan will be like the Mother base of MGS V, intervened, but without them realising it. A home for outcasts and refugees who will be a company and mercenary group, paramilitary under the financing of a group of people like La-li-lu-le-lo. No homeland and no borders under a positive look of Fragile, but still promoting imperialism. Regular western company stuff.
They want to take control of South America for its resources, including new women to generate BBs as, historically, the USA and Europe have seen the women of the Global South as resources and stolen babies for decades (see the surrogacy and kidnapping of babies, including waiting for women tortured and in concentration camps in the dictatorships that CIA installed during Operation Condor with the help of the Church that operate to this day in all countries).
BBs are not only used by porters, but are also inside the construction of each building.
BBs can be taken out of the capsules, but they are incinerated so that all the crimes are not discovered.
The sperm and eggs taken from each BRIDGES member are used to impregnate the abducted women.
But they need new women as it has been many years since the last kidnapping.
They need to maintain both the population and the chiral network, so they need more babies.
Higgs' BB is a dead baby.
Now Higgs and his cultists carry coffins on their backs with dead children or Beach creatures.
Higgs has multiple references to Dracula, not just the Crow.
Not only does he have the armour worn by Vlad Tepes in Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula but he is also carried in a coffin and rises from it like Bela Lugosi's Dracula. A requirement in both the novel and the films is that Dracula must always sleep with soil from his birthplace, and so he carries an eel or other sea creature in the capsule where his stomach should be. It is a creature of the Beach.
Like Dracula, he can take different forms and so has a tentacle tongue like Tarman's Tar Cat. Maybe he's even the one who kisses Sam instead of Fragile. Some crazy Kojima shit.
Tarman lost his family very young and acquired DOOMS.
He's lived sailing most of his adult life.
Cliff Unger was a repatriate or another DOOMS carrier or something similar because he was resurrected by Bridget/Amelie as he has the same scar as Sam where his belly button should be and had the dolls that connect to Amelie's Beach.
Lucy has an affair with Neil, her patient, while Sam makes his delivery trips that last for weeks.
He could be the biological father of Sam's baby with Lucy.
Neil wants his baby back.
Neil will be another attempt by Kojima to show that there is no such thing as a good soldier, no matter what their tragic backstory or how attractive they are. He will be nothing like Snake or other MGS protagonists. Is gonna be a subversion and a harder critic.
Again he will fail because of his fetish with the military, western beautiful men under the eurocentric canon and masculinity. Fans will again fail to understand.
People who come from the Realm of the Dead are hated and feared like immigrants.
There is going to be a character called Mothman.
We gonna know more about Coffin, Fragile's mother.
The servers on the Beach, which we assume is Amelie's, are the brain dead women and that's where they keep them now because it's better for the Chiral Network and to avoid what happened with Coffin.
The Beach Things are abbreviated BT as Bytes.
Charlie the IA it will not be intelligent and is gonna be just, as all IA, instructed and controlled by a human. Probably the owner of APAC or the president of the UCA.
Die-Hardman is the president of the UCA, but doesn't really take the decisions, this is take by APAC. Being president is his mask and at the same time he is the mask that hides the real head of state.
The APAC boss was the one that suggested the president before Bridget to use babies for the BBs and that made the hole plot of putting Lisa and Sam in pods.
We gonna know why Lisa tried to end her own life.
Bridget killed Lucy, who made the same with Lisa? They did so to take Sam from her, so could Lucy be killed so Bridget could take her baby? Both women had her husbands from the same bloodline with the same scar in their stomach, were lead to suicide and their children where DOOMS carriers. Both husbands had the ability to never die and always come back. In the case of Cliff maybe wasn't even in a hyperbolic sense.
There are 4 realms in Death Stranding: the World of the Living, the Seam, the Beach, and the World of the Death. What if we have a character for each one: World of the Living for Bridget, the Seam for Sam, the Beach for Amelie, and the World of the Death for whom? Is for Death itself? For Extinction Entity that is not anthropomorphic but it's primordial form/energy? But if it is Tomorrow given she is, apparently, a being created directly from the tar and has powers. Is she the next step of the dead? Living, dying, going to the Great Beyond, coming back as tar and then growth as an egg in the Beach or the Seam to then end up in the currents of tar in the World of the Living?
She is named Tomorrow after the motto of Drawbridge or Drawbridge was created for her?
Is she Bridget/Amelie/EE? Is she the evolution of that? Bridget is colour coded white, Amelie is red, and Sam is blue. Tomorrow dress in white and is blonde, but turns all black when fight as well golden.
The golden of her eyes in the same as Higgs. Higgs looks like that bc is imitating Amelie, but that could mean he is thus imitating Tomorrow.
Is the time different now? Present, future and past maybe are now at the same time in one way or another. In such case can characters exist in different times? For example Future Sam controlling APAC and Past Bridget or Past/Future Amelie be Tomorrow. Even Future Lou being Tomorrow.

Ran into a group of porters at Mountain Knot City the other day. Altogether unconsciously, I sent out an Odradek scan and looked for "Heartman's Lab" — the only two words I seem to give a shit about anymore. None of them were carrying any cargo for the researcher, but I began to wonder, "What if they had been?" Would I have asked the porters politely to hand it over? And what if they'd said no? What would I do to get my hands on Heartman's cargo? 😳 Scared me to think about...
Anyway — I'm somewhat shaken at the moment, and not just because of the theoretical porter scenario. 😣 The cargo duplication anomaly has been disturbing me enough that I knocked on Heartman's door, hoping I could share my upsetting conclusion. 'Multiverse' is what my mind's been gnawing on for days now. Makes sense, doesn't it — those duplicated containers are likely from another universe, parallel to ours. And the times pieces go missing — that's other Sam's picking them up, has to be. 📦
Heartman didn't answer, but I didn't knock again, either. 🚪 Afraid he might be dead in there, and I'm not talking three-minute-dead — I mean dead-for-good-dead. But I s'pose that's what the bastard wants, isn't it? 😭
