It wasn’t polite to stare, he knew that, but it wasn’t like he’d ever actually cared about being polite. That was entirely beside the point though. It had started, at least, like a normal day for him. A break from school, a chance to run some errands and stock up on some resources he needed for his latest project, and ending up at a cozy little ramen shop for lunch. Honestly, pizza had also sounded good, but the ramen shop was closer and cheaper for a student on a budget.

But the real problem lay in the man completely decimating every bowl he was handed. Donatello knew enough about human anatomy to be equal parts concerned and curious. Wouldn’t eating that much make a person feel nauseous after a while? Still the guy was going strong. Honestly, it sort of made him feel a bit ill just watching...

“Don’t you get sick?” he found himself asking, in spite of his desire to finish his own ramen and leave. “The speed at which you’re eating and the amount you’re eating stands to reason that the normal gag reflex would have kicked in right now, or the expanding of your stomach to signal to your brain that you’re already full..” He paused for a moment, squinting at the man.

“Even my rather sturdy older brother doesn’t eat that much. How in the world are you managing it?”

Need Healing | Noi and Shin

It’d been a pretty slow day, really. Noi had spent pretty much all of the day inside, snacking and reading some books. Some downtime wasn’t bad at all, and she’d been feeling a little lazy since she had first woken up. Hard work needed to be rewarded with self-care, after all.

A dull thud against her front door drew her attention away from the pages before her, and she furrowed her brow, confused. Normally if she was needed by En or Shin, they would just contact her phone. She put the book aside and made her way to where the odd noise had come from.

She didn’t have to wonder about it for very long, for when she opened the door, a large figure all but fell into the doorway, and the form was immediately recognizable to her.

“S-senpai?!” Her shock gave way to worry as she realized there was blood soaking through his clothes, and a lot of it. For someone of Shin’s stature and strength to be unable to hold himself upright, the damage must’ve been way worse than she could see. She dragged her senior into her home, laying him carefully on his back on the floor. “What the hell happened to you?!”

Unusual Help | Noi, Shin, and Tanjiro

The seedy underbelly of Shizume City wasn’t anything new to Noi, not by a long shot. She’d been involved with it since she was young thanks to her cousin and current boss, En. It became a routine, but even so, she never got bored of it. There was definitely a thrill tied to her job, even though most of the opponents she went up against were no match for her and her partner.

This job, however, had very little information behind it besides the general area where the group their boss wanted gone frequented. And so Noi and Shin were there, wandering the streets to look for clues on where to go. Most people, understandably, weren’t exactly eager to speak to the two masked hitmen.

“This is annoying,” Noi whined. “We’re not getting anywhere and I’m getting hungry. Do you think we’d miss them if we just got something to eat for a few minutes?”

Before she was able to get a response, a gunshot resounded through the streets. Noi whipped her head in the direction of the report. “Oh! Looks like that’s gonna have to wait. Let’s go, senpai!” Without waiting, she dashed off into the streets to locate the source.
