time for me to describe a goggle v episode to you all. are you ready?
we begin with a deathdark tapir monster performing a test where it eats a special “tapir mushroom” which gives it the ability to create a gas that drives humans berserk and makes them want to murder each other
fuhrer taboo loves this and instructs everyone to grow more tapir mushrooms asap. however instead of just, like, having their footsoldiers do this they instead somehow locate a village deep in the japanese countryside that’s so remote the people still live like it’s the edo period and have never had contact with the modern world
the tapir monster takes the form of their village chief after they lock the actual one up and it begins an extensive mushroom growing operation in a nearby cave using the residents as a workforce
however by some coincidence goggle red happens to fall through a chasm while rock climbing with no safety gear (despite being a supposed professional at such things) and finds himself just outside this uncharted village. he infiltrates the mushroom cave to learn about the terrible scheme and all the other goggle vs arrive in time to have a questionably real battle with the monster where they fight in a blank void and wear various outfits
and in the end they take the little kid who doesn’t know what tokyo is back to tokyo with them even though he’s ten years old and has no one there to live with

ginzatoushi to kuro no yousei is barely translated but its such a great story and i wish the manga didnt only cover the first novel and i love the whole premise and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
So, at like 12 am pacific time I was still up and totally awake on tumblr but no one was really posting because most of the people I follow live on the east coast. And it was actually like, legitimately lonely and disappointing especially because everyone in my house was also asleep.
But then there were occasional interjections by Haku-Mama Ochi having ~feelings~ about Reimeiroku and it was really comforting in a way I don't really know how to describe?
Like, just think if the Haku-familia was an actual family living in one big house. And I'm that little kid who can't fall asleep, wandering the halls, hoping someone is awake, but too scared to actually go into anyone's room. And Ochi is the mom or big sis with the TV on in her room, talking to the show/game/whatever because ~FEELINGS~. And it's just nice to hear their voice and know someone else is awake with you, so you sit outside the door because you don't want to disturb them and you really don't have anything you could say to them, it's just nice to know they're there I guess? And you just kind of send mental 'i understand your feelingssss' to them as you drift off to sleep.
...Does anyone else know that feeling or am I just weird and/or creepy?
