Try to guess Kohga's fears. He'll have to answer honestly with yes/no + rate out of 10 how scared of it he is.
Rude, rude, rude, rude, RUDE!
How the hell could someone guess that?!
He’s only been around the ocean a handful of times in his life. He likes the beach! The water is awfully pretty, from a distance.
The thing is…
….Master Kohga can’t swim.
And the last thing he’s gonna do is give ANYONE a potential weak spot to exploit, because he has NONE, thank you!
…and Ganon knows WHAT manner of creeps and giants lurk under the deeper waters. He shivers visibly at the thought. He’s seen those Leviathan bones littered across Hyrule, and is glad he doesn’t get to see what they look like in the flesh.
So, yes, he can appreciate a pretty blue blanket as far as his knees go.
Any further? Yeah. Pass.
"It’s uh….a lot of water. And blue? Pretty too? I-I dunno, I just prefer kicking back on a chair and sippin’ my banana daiquiri while the boys splash around, okay?!"
i love how much thought u put into ur corbeau, it's clear even from just chatting that ur really sitting down to think about how his life is impacting his thought process, his mannerisms, everything. love that u lean into the serious / shady sides of him and also the more wholesome sides of him, emphasizing the duality that makes him so interesting!! u have such a clear sense of his voice in how u write him, i feel, which makes ur portrayal really fun to read!
tell me your honest opinion of my portrayal || accepting !
OHH MY GOD THE WAY I SQUEALED READING THIS. 🥹🥹🥹 Once I start getting into his head I just have to keep digging in deeper and deeper, there's absolutely no stopping me. He's undoubtedly one of LZA's most developed characters, so admittedly it does get hard to develop him even further, but it serves as a really good challenge! When I saw that spoiler image of him at Hotel Z the night before LZA's release his dialogue permanently etched into my brain. :') Voice casters don't disappoint with Corbeau's voice ISTG, please don't make me wait this long and give him a terrible voice.
//one of my favorite rpc memories is the time @heartwilled had to introduce me and @rookfang to each other like we were feral cats because we both wanted to be friends so bad but were so shy about it that we just…. did not do anything except separately tell nox we wished we were friends
anyway they’re now two of my favorite people and we’ve been friends for like 10 years which is WILD to think about and I wouldn’t trade those friendships for the world xoxo
@heartwilled made good and cool points about Alm and Edelgard potential interactions and I think they're so real for it but also this is what my brain came up with last night and i could not sleep for hours bc I was trying so hard not to laugh
mum says it's my turn to talk about tloz / no longer accepting / @vigilantdesert, @mightiestbanana, @stygicniron, & @heartwilled
thank you all lots for sending these in ♡ it has been a very long while since i last got to talk about these games in this capacity, so please forgive the length of the rambles dumped under the cut!!
favourite 3D title?
if we're only considering the mainline games, it's a toss-up between twilight princess and majora's mask if i really had to narrow it down! the former is what got me into the series in the first place and so everything about it will always hold a special place in my heart, but the latter is the most compelling to me out of all the games in terms of themes, gameplay mechanics, the protagonist we follow, the story it has to tell, and how all of those interplay with each other — especially in the context of following up on ocarina of time.
if you've seen me on my general mumu, this is probably quite an obvious answer sldfkjl shout out to a link between worlds for being the highly enjoyable experience that it is though!
what is your favourite boss fight?
not to say that there have never been any misses, but a lot of the boss fights in this series have been pretty great hits for me! maybe it's just because i'm not the type of person to fuss over how easy or hard a boss is so long as they're fun, engaging, or thematically fitting. like:
colgera from tears of the kingdom was wonderful even before we actually got to the fight; the build-up as we climb up the rising island chain and go through the nooks and crannies of the stormwind ark, and how it all pays off in just. astounding spectacle.
cole and malladus from spirit tracks, whose phases made full use of all the game's mechanics and was really well done from a thematic pov. the split screens in the final phase as you control both link and zelda were such a lovely touch!
null from echoes of wisdom was such a fun final boss for the fact that you play purely as zelda in the usual legendary team-up rather than link. and that itself is played super straight! i give all the kudos to the people who made bind ( and hence, tri ) so relevant to the fight, because that was very satisfying on sooo many levels.
i think the one boss battle that has stuck with me for all this time with its stellar sequencing, though, is ganondorf's from twilight princess. his tears of the kingdom counterpart is a runner-up for sure, but puppet zelda ( delicious concept that was only possible because of an even more delicious concept ) → dark beast ganon vs. midna and divine beast link → jousting on horseback while zelda snipes him until we get the good ol' upfront duel to the death complete with swords locking ( and how delightful is it that ganondorf is using "[the] foul blade" that failed to kill him, that the hero's shade's techniques are key to surviving the fight, that the final blow is the first thing the spirit who could not pass on due to his many, many regrets teaches you ) is. an Excellent series of events. and then it's followed by this stunning, poignant moment of silence??
i am not sorry for being such a twilight princess nut lmao, this game fucks
what is your favourite song from any game?
the honest answer is that i will never be able to choose a true favourite of favourites because the music in this series continues to never disappoint. it always, always has my back! but if i had to choose a song that i'd want to feature here if only so i could give it some sorely needed exposure, the sacred duet from spirit tracks.
like! zelda's cute synth-voice! literally the only final boss bgm that you as a player and link musically contribute to in the diegetic sense ( you have no idea how much it means to me that the magical, sacred pan-flute pushed as Very Important actually does something to the final boss lmao )! the instrumentation as the lokomo come in for support! the main leitmotif that's been there with you from the title screen to the overworld theme to this final hour of hope against all odds! gosh, and how it reads less like malladus' theme and more like link-and-zelda's for it. which is not new with the more recent games, but the fact that you get a front-row seat to the development of their bond from the very beginning really cements it as link-and-zelda's theme as opposed to. link ( and zelda )'s theme. you get me?
if you could have any item from tloz, which would it be?
the jabber nut from minish cap! it only says "[...] you can understand the language of the minish" when link eats it ingame, but the fact that he gets to understand animals too makes me think it may let him understand any language. and i want that so badly!!
which side character is your favourite?
grins.
( it's tulin, but i'll be a good sport and name one who isn't a rito or a Little Guy or Little Guy-adjacent: tatl. )
what was the first game you ever played?
twilight princess! the wii port, though. i did not have any of the older consoles back then, nor did i actually own a copy of the game until years after getting a wii; one of my cousins graciously lent his to me for as long as i wanted :]
which game impacted you the most?
i feel like i'm just repeating myself here, but i think that's a given when your favourite games are typically also the ones that have the most impact on you — twilight princess is a foundational part of my identity as a gamer and roleplayer, and ocarina of time and majora's mask have forever tinged my inclination towards what type of protagonists i gravitate towards. and, like, i've been fascinated with dragons and mythical creatures from my primary school years, but wolf link is 100% the origin of the pipeline to toothless as a muse who is Distinctly Not Human flskdfjl
i must also give it to breath of the wild for sparking a years-long obsession regarding an entire goddamn race in addition to the blorbos i've taken a fancy to, because i was never really interested like that in loz races/species before that. i'd love to read about them ingame, or see what others' opinions on certain cultures and lores were, but i did not think of myself as one who'd be so personally invested. i just had to flesh this one thing out! then another thing out. then another, then it all rolled downhill into a big ball that flattened me and my resistance from there lmao
what is your favourite scenery, from any game?
breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom offer more than their fair share of absolutely gorgeous vistas and scenic locations, and i would be remiss to not admit that i never fail to return to rito village to save my game before putting the switch down. it's soooo homey, cosy, and you always have such a clear view of the great landscape around you!
twilight princess comes out on top with hena's fishing hole though. it's just so dang pretty! and it goes through beautiful seasonal changes!! ideal picnic spot with that idyllic tranquility; hena would get real sick of me if i was ever a tourist in this iteration of hyrule sldfkjl
which instrument from tloz would you like to learn/have?
would looove to learn how to play any of the lyres. as much as i adore the pan-flute or fife when they pop up and want to give them a try, i've found that i do best with string and percussion instruments :]
“ we never had a choice — ” was that really true, though? it certainly felt like it, like gwi-ma’s grasp was unshakable, inescapable, that there was no way to be anything but loyal. . . but jinu proved otherwise, hadn’t he? and look where that got him.
“ — i don’t hate you, ” he finished lamely. he had nothing against @heartwilled or any of the hunters, really — and now that gwi-ma’s foot was no longer at his neck? it was hard not to feel guilty.
